REPORTS:
DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
INTRODUCTION Assembly Chairman, Dr. Filimao Chambo, and our General Superintendent, Dr.
Warrick in absentia, District Secretary, Madam Rebone Maleka, members of the
District Advisory Board, our Pastors and their spouses, Presidents of District and
Local SDMI, NMI and NYI Boards and Councils, honourable delegates, guests and
visitors, all protocol observed; I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your presence at this 32nd District Assembly of Church of the
Nazarene Limpopo Northwest District. Your presence is particularly appreciated
because this is a midweek day when you were supposed to be at work. That you
have taken leave to be here today speaks volumes of your respect for this
Denomination and for what it means and stand for in your life, your community, your
country and in our world today. Thank you so much; you are giving me and the rest
of us hope, while at the same you are setting a good example for young people and
children to follow. Imagine how the future will be if it will be a normal thing for our
young people to take off a midweek day leave to attend a district assembly. Thank
you once again.
I want to thank our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ who has been with me and my
family in the year 2016. I have seen his grace and sustaining power in times of ill
health, pressures and in times when I did not know which way to go. I have known
his peace when I did not have answers for situations I was facing. In all these God
came through for us. I am also grateful for his keeping hand upon the Church family
on this district. We have as churches experienced peace and stability and progress
in some areas. We have no complains but gratitude.
Today I am glad to present to you my seventeenth report as District Superintendent
of the Limpopo Northwest District. I am reminding everybody that I was first elected
into this office by the 1999 District Assembly. The assemblies of the 2001,
2005,2009 and 2013 each gave me a four year term to serve the Lord with you.
Thank you very much for the privilege you have given me. Today I know this District
more than all of you, because of the responsibility you gave me. You have become a
family to me. For the past 17 years I have learned by God’s grace to carry the
burdens and the needs of this District and also saw the hand of the Lord upon my life
and the lives of God’s people in this area because of the responsibility you gave me.
Thank you for your love, your prayers, your advices and your encouragement. Your
victories had been my victories and your struggles my struggles. I have enjoyed
serving with you and walking side by side with you. I have particularly been
encouraged by your love for God and his truth, and by the fact that you are
passionate about living a holy life. And so thank you once again for giving me the
privilege of compiling this report for you. This is your report and our report.
A. WELCOMING OF MINISTRY FAMILIES.
1. The Magaya Family
I first want to start off by welcoming to the Limpopo Northwest District Church family
a new ministry team, Rev Constantino Magaya and his wife Patricia Magaya, son
Caleb and the 3 Magaya sisters- Marrel, Zilke and little Zawadi. The Magayas come
from Zimbabwe East District and have agreed to join hands with us in building and
furthering the Kingdom of God. By now you already know that they have lived and
served at our Africa Nazarene University in Kenya, in East Africa. We are glad to
have them here and God has been gracious to open all the doors to get them over
here. Welcome Moruti and Mma Moruti, Caleb,Marrel, Zilke and Zawadi. We are
glad to have you here and we believe working together on a higher mission we will
get us succeed. For the record we have the Magayas’s transfer letter from the
Zimbabwe East District. Already the Magaya family is attached to Polokwane Church
where Rev Magaya is now a pastor. For your information the Polokwane church has
given a significant amount of money which enabled the renovation of the District
Superintendent’s house for the Magaya family to live in there. The house is indeed
beautiful inside. We look forward to seeing a growing Polokwane church which will
impact the city and its suburbs. Thank you Polokwane church.
2. The Motebele Family
Seondly, I would like to take this time to welcome our returning soldiers, the Rev
Lesiba William Motebele and Mrs Molatelo Christina Motebele. Some of you know
that when they left here in 1993 to join the Northcentral District they were serving as
Pastors of Mahwelereng Church of the Nazarene. They served the Northcentral
District until their retirement in October 2016. By the way the North central District is
child of this District. Welcome Rev and Mrs Motebele. Also for the record, we have
their transfer letter from the RSA North central District Advisory Board. I will now
start singing the song, “Ba neng ba swanetse go nthusa bakhutlile” instead of “ba
neng ba nthusa ba tsamaile.” I am also singing, “he giveth more grace and more
strength for each day’s challenges”
B. DISTRICT MEMBERSHIP AND GIVING
1. Membership
Last year we reported 2393 members to this Assembly. When we finally
submitted the final statistical report to the Global Ministry Office, the actual
membership figure was 2377. This means we gave you an incorrect figure for
which we apologize. Now this year we report 2393 as our actual membership.
The total members received by profession of faith and transfers in all of our
churches collectively is 92. The district also collectively lost 76 members
most of whom were lost by release and board removal. If you subtract 76 from
92 the remainder is 16, which means we grew by 16 members. From these
figures we can all see that we have a challenge of lack of growth which we
need to urgently overcome. Allow me to come back to this point later in this
report.
2. Giving
Last year we reported a total district income of R5491 976, this year we
report a total of R5 760 483. This is an increase of R268 507. This is good
given the fact that last year we dropped by about R74000. We believe that
we still have the capacity to give almost double what we are giving now if
all can give the amount of tithe God requires. Thank you for your giving.
Your giving has enabled the following :
World Evangelism - Expected = R284 770 Paid = 179 786 short payment
= R104984
Approved Specials = R25 527
NTC – Expected = R155 329; paid per our record = R143 416; short
payment = R119 13; paid per NTC Record =R 126000
I think we are by far doing well in our giving. We are making sure that NTC
has a solid support in the Limpopo Northwest District. We are also doing
well in our giving to the Global Ministry Work. We need to do this all the
more. Our not doing well can be attributed to a number of our smaller
churches which were doing well previously but which are now no longer
doing well. I invite the Administrator of NTC to audit his records and ours;
it seems there might be some money for NTC lying somewhere in some
local churches. The fact that it is recorded paid means it is available for
NTC if you have not received it yet. Let’s continue to support our College.
We are its sponsors. NTC does not receive any Government grant. It is an
institution of the Church of the Nazarene and is wholly dependent on the
faithful support of the members of the Church of the Nazarene. Let us give
towards this work of God.
3. TURFLOOP CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE
You will recall that in my report last year I indicated that Turfloop Church of
the Nazarene was stabilized and ready to have a new pastor. Rev George
Kanjere is now the pastor there. I have something new to say about them.
While we appreciate the giving of all our churches, something notable
needs to be said about Turfloop Church of the Nazarene. In 2016 they
became the most improved church financially by raising a total income of
R623 004. Their history of giving in the last 7 years is as follows:
R201 559; R285 848; R270 298; R310 712; R312 801; R357 902;
R623004. This is almost 74,7% growth. This is good. Let’s pray for the
Turfloop Church. Among others they have the challenge of developing a
Campus ministry that will reach out and provide meaningful spiritual
support and nurture to many young people from our churches and other
denominations who come to the University of Limpopo from many
provinces of South Africa. If they succeed in this ministry our prayer that
our young people who are going to Universities should not be lost to us
would have been partly answered. We need to have Nazarene churches
next to institutions of higher learning, churches that are vibrant and
relevant to their communities and the student population next to them. We
say “march on Turfloop much on.”
C. DISTRICT AUXILIARIES.
I am pleased to let you know that the District appreciates the work of our
Auxiliaries, NMI, SDMI, and NYI. I am encouraged by the active involvement
of these District Councils and Boards in the work of the ministry.
1. District NMI Council
Through the excellent leadership of Mrs MR Segona and the District NMI
Council, the District understands more and more about the work of NMI. Their
work is bearing fruit. Last year they visited 9 churches in the District. Please
support their work. Invite them to your church. Don’t wait for them to call you.
Call them. Let us make 2017 the year of excellence in the work of NMI.
Remember that NMI has a Sunday every month. NMI presidents, read our
denominational literature about NMI; surf the internet about this work. Prepare
well and expose our people to the work of missions. Please cooperate with
the District NMI Council this year to achieve among others the following NMI
goals:
To conduct revivals in weaker churches
To have you pay your WEF and NTC budgets timorously and in full.
To disciple more people in the work of missions
And to encourage you to raise more funds for Alabaster offering. Read
more about these goals in the President’s report to the 2016
Convention.
2. District SDMI Board.
I also want to commend to you our District SDMI Superintendent Mr KE
Moshupya and his Board. I can assure you that this Board and its leader are
enthusiastic about Sunday School. I encourage you to work with them. In
2016, they held a number of events including a children’s camp. I am glad that
your churches are taking our children’s Christian education and salvation
seriously. Ninety one (91) children and 18 teachers from 12 churches
attended.
If you teach and take care of the children you are preparing for a safe future.
This team showed great dedication and commitment to these young lives. I
am also pleased to let you know that the District SDMI Board also facilitated
the holding of Senior Adult Conference, the Pastors’ Wives Conference and
the Single Adult Ministry Conference, and the attendance of Nazarene Men’s
conference by 42 men. Our men took position 1 in attendance at NAMECO.
This is a good sign of things to come.
I am sure that we will have a great 2017 year of Sunday School and
Discipleship Ministries now that we have started the year with a good
workshop about how to organize a Sunday School ministry at a local church.
I conclude the Work of District SDMI by mentioning the fact that the Women’s
ministry Executive Committee continues to do a good job of discipling women
to be active in ministry. The highlight of the Women’s ministry was their visit to
Lesotho last year. Over a 100 women undertook this trip. I was reliably
informed that this mission was a great success and blessing to these women
and the women of Lesotho. The DS of Lesotho called and thanked me. He
said to me, “ Ntate Moruti rona mona re mo tsoseletsong e tshabehang ka
baka la mosebetsi wa bomme ba hao.” May the name of the Lord be praised.
All the monies that you raised towards the Lesotho trip and the prayers you
prayed were honored by God almighty.
A section of the women who did not go to Lesotho went to GNCC for the
Extravaganza. This is greatly appreciated. Pastors, Auxiliaries presidents and
all of you delegates including the District SDMI Board and its Superintendent,
I would like to let you know the declared position of the District Women
Ministry on the Extravaganza: They will not go to the Extravaganza every
year. One year they will undertake their own trip in furtherance of their own
ministry goals, and the following year they will go to the Extravaganza. This
position has been clearly articulated to the Extravaganza Organizing
Committee. However, the women who do not go to the trip but want to attend
the Extravaganza are free to go. The District Women Executive Committee
will still be responsible to help facilitate and to make the necessary
arrangement for those who want to attend the Extravaganza to succeed in
going.
Lastly we thank these Women for their continued support to their Pastors.
Their ministry is a blessing and it encourages us to soldier on in serving the
Lord. Thank you. My advice to you Mrs TT Motebejane and the Women
Executive Committee, “you are doing a good job. The Enemy is not happy
with the progress of the Kingdom of God. Pastors are being blessed by your
ministry and God is happy too. The Women Ministry serves as a motivation
for all other Ministries under SDMI on the District and locally. Be careful to
seek God, always look for the best ways to run this ministry. Be careful that
you don’t own it. Consult, be honest and transparent in all your dealings with
the women, and you will succeed”. I am available to advise your Committee.
3. District NYI Council
I want to thank Mr Lekau Caleb Mamabolo for leading the District NYI
Council for this long time, and for demonstrating what availability is before
our young people. He served NYI with passion and great energy. Thank
you Sir for the good work. I hope we will sit and talk about how best we
should continue to serve the Lord. I also want to take this time to welcome
and to introduce to you Mr Masilo Mahomole, the new District NYI
President and his Council. They need your 100% support to succeed.
Please support them, and please support them. I assure you before this
congregation Brother Masilo Mahomole that you have my support and that
of the District Advisory Board. You are here to succeed. Also thank you
District NYI Council for the successful camps you held and for evangelistic
NYI events held in various parts of the district. Thank and thank you.
D. Disciplines
As a matter of principle and necessity we would like to inform this Assembly
that in the year 2016 we faced disappointments of sexual misconduct by 3
pastors, Rev MJ Magowa, Pastor NM Seemola and Brother Promise
Manyaka, our student minister at Nazarene Theological College. These were
difficult situations but they needed to be faced. We informed almost all the
churches about this matters. There may be a few churches which might not
have been informed and for that we apologize. Please pray with these
brethren for their revival and encouragement. Also pray with us so that their
rehabilitation will be a success.
E. BUILDING PROJECTS
We have some building projects going on in a number of places on the
District;
1. Makgato – a church wall is built to roof level.
2. Taaibosch- a steel structure is roofed.
3. Moletji – the wall is complete. The church has an alabaster grant which will
help in the roofing
4. Segoreng – the wall is complete and we have an alabaster grant to help
roof the building.
5. Mafefe – A steel structure is being erected there.
6. Mokamole – We will put up 2 toilets there within the next two weeks. This
will be followed by a revival.
7. Ditatju – the church hall is built above window level.
F. PLAN TO GROW THE DISTRICT
I held two meetings with our pastors in December 2016 to talk about church
growth. All of ment that we need to pay total attention to Evangelism and
Discipleship in 2017. It is not right for us to continue to minister to the
converted. There are a number of reasons for lack of growth in our churches.
Among these are:
a. Some churches do not have a clear plan of Evangelism and Discipleship.
Solution: Every church board and members are therefore required to come up
with a clear plan and strategy of outreach and discipleship.
b. There are many people within our churches who do not know how to lead a
person and to disciple them; this means we do not have capable disciplers.
Solution: Every Pastor and church will be required to obtain discipleship
material by which every person will be discipled so that they will be
competent. I have asked Revs Kanjere, Ubisi and Magaya to compile
discipleship material which will be used by every church to disciple all of us.
Every member is required to be part of discipleship classes.
c. We have church officers and church board members who are not disciplers
and as such are not able reach out and to disciple people with the pastor. As
such much of the work revolves around the pastor. Some of the church board
members do not attend midweek services and this implies that they are not
part of the church’s praying and disciplining team. Others are not consistent in
their tithing while others tithe incorrect amounts.
Solution: We need all our church officers to meet the requirements of
paragraph 34 of Manual 2013- 2017. This is the Bible standard.
d. In many local churches auxiliaries operate without holding meetings.
Solution: Let there be meetings. See comments on the page on important
Dates and Deadlines.
e. In the whole District holy communion was served 34 times. In 27 churches no
communion was served. In 7 churches communion was served only once (1
time) in the whole year. In 3 churches it was served 2 times in the whole year.
A few churches went beyond 2 times.
Solution: We will attach an elder to each church who will be part of the plans
of that church to visit them and to serve holy communion, receive members
and to give other needed services.
f. In short let there be a plan for outreach revivals, disciplining classes, dates for
baptism of believers, dates to welcome them into membership, Local NMI,
NYI and SDMI workshop, outreach cottage meetings etc. This year our major
concentration will be on Evangelism and Discipleship in every church.
g. At District level we will direct a significant amount of our budget towards
evangelism and reviving of smaller churches. The following churches will
receive the attention of the District Evangelism Board :Sekhokho,Segopye,
Moletlane, Mokamole, Leyden,Mokaba, Blackhill, GaMolema, Papegaai,
Phuthaditshaba, Uddney, Miltonduff, Taaibosch, DevredeMakgato, Hwibi,
Makgodu, Solomondale, Tshamahansi and Mapela. We will discuss with them
and find out how they think they should best be helped.
h. We will also utilize the services of our retired ministers on regular basis in a
manner that will not compromise their health to render service to these
churches. While we will not assign them churches we will send them to
churches now and again.
i. We will coordinate the plans of the District Advisory Board and District
Auxiliaries and Boards to work together to achieve a great harvest. Let’s put
aside all the excuses. The door for a great ministry is open for us.
j. Every church must send us its membership goals: for church membership, SS
membership, NYI and NMI membership and is income projection for 2017.
Send these goals by 21 February 2017 together with your year plans. Your
goals will become the District goals.
NB. Now your responsibility is to pray and plan, and to be part of your local church’s
ministry team, give your tithes and offerings regularly and have your church send in
its District, WEF and NTC budgets every month and on time.
G. DISTRICT PLOT
We are pleased to inform you that the District Plot is registered permanently in the
name of Church of the Nazarene Limpopo Northwest District. We are however still
owing R150000,00 to Zoe Ministry Group. We are required to pay this money in full
by 30 March 2017. We have asked contributions of R600 from individual working
members. Kindly cooperate with all of us and give your part.
H. CONCLUSION
I would like to thank you for working together with your pastors to advance the work
of God. We are called to make Christ-like disciples in our communities and
neighborhoods, and we can do better than we are doing now. Let’s move together in
unity for together with God we are a winning combination. Thank you for supporting
me and all the District Boards and Councils. Please note that the term of all the
District Boards and Councils ends today.
Thank you members of the District Advisory Board for the support and cooperation
you gave to advance the work of God on this District. It has been good to work with a
supportive team such as yourselves. Thank you.
Finally, I am grateful for the support of my wife and children who have always been
on my side. Her faithful support, her advises and patient endurance have made it
easier for me to work with you. Imagine how it would be if she was fighting what I am
doing. It would be difficult for me to maintain my spiritual shape.“My dear, swara
bjalo, o tla putsiwa mo re ya go gona. Le nna ke swanetse go itira moputso wa gago
re sa le mo lefaseng.
Finally, I want to say to all of you that this is my last report of the 4 year term you
have given me as your DS. The 4 years you gave me to be your DS are finished. As
you prepare to elect a DS for the next term, I trust that you have seriously prayed for
your discernment of the will of God in this Assembly. I am making myself available
for re-election. If you re-elect me the plan I gave you will be what we will follow. If
God leads you to elect someone else you will have released me from the office you
put me in for 17 years, I will rejoice and you will still have my 100% support. This
office is an assignment and not a permanent appointment that says “till death do us
part”. God bless you all
Respectfully submitted by:

2. Devotion
Rev MH Maluleka gave the devotion
He was thankful to the Lord for his grace that kept him
since 1978
That prayer should be our lifestyle and not an event.
He read from the Gospel of Mark 1: 29-39, Mark focused
much on gospel of Jesus.
Our mission as Nazarenes is to make Christ-like disciples
in all the nations.
We also have to maintain holiness in our lives.
We have to copy from our Lord Jesus
There are 3 things about Christ ‘s mission:
The true mission of Christ is centred in his authority; no
ministry will prosper without his power. We are not called
for wonderful preaching but to preach transformation.
True mission is powered by prayer; much time should be
spent in prayer.
Christ‘s mission is mission driven; let’s go out and preach
his gospel; our great mission is to make Christ-like
disciples.
We have work in Venda today because you have gone to the next
village; we have Northcentral today because Limpopo Northwest district
has gone to the next village. Today we got stuck because we entertain
crowds. Let us move in his power, and prayerfully move from one village
to another and from one city to another to build the Kingdom of God.

A. PASTORS
The DS appreciated the good pastoral leadership in our
district.
Our greatest challenge is of aging leadership. There are
few young emerging leaders to replace the current aging
leadership.
B. CHURCHES
We have 39 organised churches, 4 stand-alone mission
churches. Five churches were disorganised.
The DAB spent R10,000.00 to repair and fence our church
in Mokamole Village.
C. MEMBERSHIP
Our membership has decreased by 64 members.
There is a call to engage in soul winning work.
Turfloop Church of the Nazarene is now stable after the
departure of the lay pastor who was there in 2014. This
church now needs a trustworthy pastor who has a clean
heart and has a sound mind who will inject the church
with the right heavenly and Nazarene DNA.
D. GIVING
Our finances have gone down by R74,021.00.
E. DISTRICT AUXILLIARIES
Children’s Camp Meeting: there were 149 children who
attended their camp in 2015.
Family Life Meeting: Our District Men won a trophy for
the highest attendance in 2015.
District Women‘s Ministry: This ministry is taking care of
our pastors in the district. Their work is highly appreciated.
We remind them that as the work grows improvement in
administration is necessary to maintain and grow the
work.
District NMI: The purpose of NMI is to mobilize us to pay
and give for missions and to educate us about missions.
We have 1664 NMI members. NMI presidents were
encouraged to present well prepared lessons once every
month.

give to NTC in the form of budgets, student support and prayers.
NTC has accreditation challenges with Council on Higher
Education. Legal advice is being sought while the challenges are
being given the right attention. NTC is still accredited to offer the
B.Th online, Diploma in Theology and Certificate in Ministry as
residential programs. People who need more clarity regarding the
challenges should direct their queries to the principal

Rev Maluleke requested the licensed ministers to be different in the

DISTRICT AUXILIARIES CONVENTIONS REPORTS (SDMI, NMI & NYI)
DISTRICT SDMI SUPERINTENDENT REPORT By: Mr. K.E Moshupya
SMDI CONVENTION DATE: 05 NOVEMBER 2016
Time: 10:00
Venue: Seshego
1. INTRODUCTION
The Presiding officer, Rev. MJ Phago District Superintendent, Rev H.F Mahlaba,
pastors, members of the SDMI Board, Directors of SDMI, Ministries, SDMI
superintendents, Sunday school teachers and visitors present here, I greet you in the
name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
It is an honor to present this report about SMDI activities in the District. Although we
did not accomplish much, I have hope that one day things will be alright. We still
have to do more on our mission and purpose. God is expecting us to carry out the
Great Commission and we cannot neglect this calling as ambassadors of Christ.
Let me remind you that, it is the responsibility of every Christian to be a soul winner.
We need to examine our lives and see why we are not winning souls for Christ. Let
me give you a word of encouragement. “God has a place in His vineyard for you. He
does not call us because we are able and this makes us to depend upon Him. John
9:4 says “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is still day, the night
cometh, when no man can work.”.
John 4: 35 says, “Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, for they are white already
to harvest.” The night is coming. Let us not wait for favorable conditions.
Ecclesiastes 11:4-6 says, “He who observes the wind and waits for all conditions to
be favorable, will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap. As you know
not what is the way of the wind, or how the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of
a pregnant woman, even so you know not the work of God, who does all. In the
morning, sow your seed, and in the evening withhold not your hands, for you know
not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether both alike will be good”
Another version says, “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything
done, God's ways are as mysterious as the pathway of the wind, and as the manner
in which a human spirit in infused into the little body of a baby while it is yet in its
mother's womb. Keep on sowing your seed, for you never knows which will grow,
perhaps it all will.”
I heartily appreciate what NYI did at Ditatju and Lebowakgomo. House to house and
open air will be and remain a strategy for fishers of men.
2. SDMI QUADRENNIAL THEME
The theme for 2013-2017 still stands and is:
*People of payer
*Engage in the work
*Making Christ-like disciples
3. THE PASTOR'S ROLE
The fact that the pastor must be involved in the SDMI activities cannot be
overemphasized.
During quarterly church board meetings, SMDI superintendents must report on what
they are
doing and the challenges they face. The reason why most of SMDI superintendents
are failing to attend the convention is because they have neglected their work
throughout the year.
We discussed about the pastor's role at great length at our workshop.

DISTRICT NAZARENE MISSIONS INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT REPORT
CONVEBNTION DATE: 05/11/2016
VENUE: SESHEGO DISTRICT CENTRE
1. INTRODUCTION
Presiding Officer, District Superintendent, District Nazarene Missions International
Council and honorable Delegates to this convention, I greet you all in the name of
our Lord Jesus Christ.
I feel highly honoured and privileged to stand before you to present the 2016 District
state of NMI report. I thank God who made it possible for us as a Council to serve
him under this district auxiliary this year. The 2016 church year was a good one
although it had some challenges. We praise God for his faithfulness to us.
NMI COUNCIL MEMBERS (2015/2016)
In our 2015 Convention we elected the following members to serve as our District
NMI Council for two years, i.e. 2016 and 2017:
Mrs Segona MR-President
Mr Marakalla TJ- Vice President and Treasurer
Mrs Moremi MW - Secretary
Mrs Zwane B
Mrs Makhogela L-
Pastor Ramodike MP
2. PURPOSE of NMI
To mobilize the Church in mission through praying, discipling, giving and educating.
Honorable delegates are reminded that through praying and education we can take
this District to another level. The whole District can be a Mission Priority one district.
This is a great challenge to our local churches to realize that our goal in this district is
to focus upon our core objectives of NMI which are prayer, discipling, giving and
educating. Our 2013-2017 Quadrennial theme is to make Christ like disciples in the
Nations. NMI programs must make a point that they put the focus upon mission work
to make an important in people’s lives. Our main goal is to emphasize the great
commission, ‘the GO YE PROGRAMME’ given to the Church by our Lord Jesus
Christ.

05 November 2016 District NMI Convention
We had the above mentioned churches to visit in 2016 as our itinerary. indicates. We
managed to visit more churches this year as compared to last year. In Blouberg
Zone we visited only seven (7) – Schoongezicht, Mohodi, Miltonduff, Avon, Blackhill,
Bochum and Dilaeneng. These churches were not visited in 2015. We also visited
the following churches in Mahwelereng ward: Mahwelereng and Tshamahansi In
Mankweng ward we used the Easter Camp which was well attended to offer NMI
teachings. We really encourage every Ward Committee that when they plan for their
Easter Camps they should give a slot for NMI teachings in their Easter Camp
programs. This will help to expose more people to NMI teachings. We also urge our
Pastors and NMI leaders not to clash dates for NMI visits with their local events. For
our part we will try our best to give you our NMI year plan in advance. We need to
stir the passion and interest of many of our members for NMI.
4. FINANCES/GIVING
Honorable delegates let us not forget that through giving and paying our district
budgets well we can take this district to the next level. Let us trust God and put more
efforts in giving. The District NMI Council lend R 10 000,00 to the District Advisory
Board to enable them to pay for our district plot.
In this year we were able to give the following:
a. WEF = R179 786,00
b. Alabaster = R25 527,00
c. NTC = R143 416,00
Thank you very much for your giving. It is important that we honor our giving to this
entities of the Church. It is us who must believe in what the Church of the Nazarene
is doing. No Non-Nazarene is going to support the programs of the Church of the
Nazarene more than the members of the Church of the Nazarene. So let us wake
up.
5. GOALS FOR 2017
To raise funds for the district plot
To encourage churches to pay District NMI budgets by the end of
February 2017
To have zonal and ward NMI leaders to help in this Auxiliary
To raise funds for our NMI delegates to go the Global NMI Convention
in the USA in 2017
To use Jesus film effectively
To disciple more people
To conduct revivals in inactive churches.
To have every church pay their World Evangelism Offering by 10
September 2017.
To have every church pay their NTC budget in full by end of October
2017.
To come up with a good plan for every church to raise a good alabaster
offering. We cannot be recipients who do not contribute anything.
6. BUILDINGS/ALABASTER GRANT
Last year Makgodu received R70,000.00 to assist them in roofing their church.
Ditatju also received R70,000.00 to assist them in their building projects. It is
possible that we may have 2 more churches receiving a total of over R200000,00 to
roof their structures before the end of November 2016.
7. DISTRICT PLOT PAYMENT
a. The Plot belongs to us. We have the title deed, but we still have a good
sum of money to pay. We are not doing well on individual pledges for the
plot. We have only _____ people who are contributing monthly to the plot.
Account. Two (2)of these people are non Nazarenes. How do we feel
when non Nazarenes are doing better than Nazarenes. Can we wake up
to this challenge? Remember that we still need to raise funds for the
building after paying for the purchase of this plot. We also still have many
churches that did not paid what they are supposed to pay. You who are
here today, can you be so kind by playing your part in urging your church
members and your church board to cooperate in raising funds for the
payment of the outstanding money for the Plot and in the raising of funds
for building the Conference Centre on the plot. We need your cooperation
please.
8. CHALLENGES
a. Honorable delegates I think now it is time to think about District Vehicle
that will help all auxiliaries to do the work best. It is long that we have been
using vehicles of individuals. I think it is now time to think of having a
bigger vehicle to do the district work.
b. Late payments is still the problem, sending NMI reports earlier to the
district office is still also a problem, taking reporting during the NMI
convention very serious is still an issue. Beloved, this is our District,…
this is our district …and this is our district beloved. I know you love
it, let us take make it successful. Let us support it by working
together, by raising funds, and by praying together. Together we can
overcome all challenges.
9. GENERAL NMI CONVENTION IN 2017
Honorable delegates, be reminded that our General NMI Convention will be held in
2017 in Indianapolis, USA. Let us by all means make an effort to give our general
budgets and to fundraise to support our delegates trip to that Global Conventions.
On behalf of the District NMI Council I would like to remind you that you did well by
raising funds for your district delegates to enable them to attend the 2013 Global
Conventions and the General Assembly. We commend you for the great generosity
you have shown. As a District we managed to pay 100% accommodation and flight
fees for our delegates, none of them paid from their pockets. This is good, keep it up
and let us do likewise in 2017. Let us start now to avoid last minute problems, you
are reminded that it in this Convention where we are going to elect delegates for the
NMI General Convention.it is my wish that we pay in full the money needed to send
our delegates to the general NMI Convention.
10. INACTIVE CHURCHES
Honorable delegates we still have serious problem of inactive churches in our
District. As I reported last year about this matter, I think it is time now to do
something. Churches from the same ward should help churches who do not have
pastors and cannot function well. Churches like Segopye, Leyden, Mokaba and
others that you know next to you should get your assistance. Don’t forget that we are
a global church made of interdependent local churches that are caring,
compassionate and missional. Think about churches without pastors. It is the prayer
of my heart that God will raise men and women who have zeal and passion of
serving God to help these churches. Think also about the above-mentioned
churches; let us seriously pray for the few members in those churches.
11. NAZARENE COMPASSIONATE MINISTRIES, LINKS AND WORK AND
WITNESS TEAM
Honorable delegates we still have challenges as far as the above mentioned matter
or issues are concerned. As district we know very well that we cannot do without
them.
We understand NCM very well and there is a need for us as a district to engage our
churches in this ministry. I was invited to attend NCM service in one of our churches
in Blouberg Zone where they were dishing food parcels on that day. It was a great
day Jesus had compassion over people. He fed the multitudes.
LINKS (Loving, Interested Nazarenes, Knowing and Sharing) let us think always and
pray for our missionaries. Let us have a link with them and serve God through
LINKS. Think about the good and great work they are doing in our church around the
world; we are the products of missionary work.
Work and Witness Team: It is now high time that we have our own work and
witness team in this District. Through a Work and Witness Team we can achieve
many things on our District. Open your eyes and see our old buildings and also
unfinished once. Work and witness team from other countries have done their work
and now it is our time to continue where they left. Many of the church buildings we
are in are a great example of the good work done by Work and Witness Teams from
overseas. The time is now, the time is now, let us rise up, and the sooner the better.
13 AWARDS
The District NMI Council would like to appreciate the good work done in our various
churches on the District. Due to failure to submit reports payment and deposit slips
to the district, allow us to award those churches we have the full payments of District
NMI budgets, WEF and educational budget ( NTC budgets) in full. It is not that other
offering are not that important, this is just a measuring stick that is easy to use for
now. Other offerings will be added next time. Keep up the good work done by your
local churches- pay your budgets and send copies of your deposit slips to the district
office. May the good Lord richly bless you.
14. CONCLUSION
In conclusion let me thank God who helped us the whole year. Thank you NMI
Council as you allowed God to use you in this Auxiliary. My beloved pastors we
appreciate the good work done in our churches. Members of this convention, I thank
you for your availability to work for God in our various churches; you are the best.
REV Mahlaba and your family you really add value to this District. Thanks for the
support you gave us the whole year, we love you and you are always available when
we need you. Pastors, NMI Presidents, Delegates and Visitors present here, let us
together take the District to the next level, Thank you , I love you all.

Based on the report of the secretary we are having our zones functional and with
activities exciting to the youth. We did not have good attendances in most events
organized by our respective zones and wards .This year we did not have Camps but
we had outreach campaigns at Lebowakgomo, Solomondale, and Ditatju. The
experience was wonderful and we wish to have more of this in the coming year. It

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
We had an aging leadership for too long and I think we should really affirm our youth
and show we believe we have mentored, empowered and really provided capacity
for our young professionals to lead NYI on their own. We do have many young
people who have proven to be available and really showing potential to serve in our
church. We have had leadership workshops and we can really differentiate between
leadership in administration and leadership in ministry. Let us also consider that
society will have good leaders from those we developed and capacitated. We need
to look back and ask ourselves were our former leaders are. I want to distinctly
appreciate the role played in particular by our former NYI president Mr. M D Sebola
who served this ministry and still availed himself when Seshego Zone was in a crisis
and still served as a leader for Seshego Zone.
We are a church and not a political party. We need leaders inspired by the Holy
Spirit. We need leaders who know and understand the policy and practice of the
church of the Nazarene. Leaders who value people. Leaders who will not purge or
serve their friends but the church at large. Our local churches reports will really tell if
indeed we have developed leaders. The number of young people we are able to
send to NTC will also tell.
DISCIPLESHIP
As the church of the Nazarene we are a church that teaches the word of God. We
had a number of meetings for teaching the word of God. Our 2015 December
conference held at Tivhumbeni is one of them. The youth is still mobilized and
encouraged to pray. This is confirmed by the all night prayers held throughout our
wards.
This must be continued and assist the church to have quality people who will
represent God and the church in society. In the last days even the elect may be
deceived, therefore we must teach our youth to be grounded in the word and
understanding as to why we are doing things our way.
We need to continue forging the links with SDMI and affirm our NYI presidents as
Sunday school teachers. Paul says to Young Timothy “but be an example in your
speech, conduct…”This is an example we are trying to emulate, We are saying to all
the young leaders in this convention please be of good courage, this ministry is
yours, you are not the church of tomorrow but of today. Embrace the character of
God and do things God’s way.
One cardinal challenge facing our youth is entering marriage God‘s way. The
number of young people falling from grace has also escalated. Let’s stand up and
teach one another, encouraging each other to do things God’s way.
Still under discipleship I would like to indicate that it’s a pleasure to report that our
young people show keenness to pray. The few all night prayers we have arranged
were attended and we really prayed together. I hope the new leadership will uphold
praying together as an instrument of discipleship
EVANGELISM
Due to the fact that we could not have our youth camp. We embarked on an
outreach program as alluded above. Good disciples are those who are able to share
the gospel to others. The great commission is our major project and have for too
long majored on minor issues. We have experienced the joy of serving and we hope
the coming leadership will build on the foundation layed. We have trained many
young people on each one win one, open air preaching, making an impactful follow
up. If we can maintain the momentum, we will build our churches and foster for
growth. We are having many young people keen on Evangelism. We need not
confuse administration and service on ministry gifts. Sometimes we take people we
must affirm as preachers for administration .Let us make sure we develop people for
service and we utilize people in areas of their expertise. We have people like Mike
Raphela,William Thathane.komana Raboshakga,Mmanape Mokobodi,Thembane
Marima and others whom we are still to discover.
I think we are ready to establish impact teams through which we can teach and
expose our young people on person to person evangelism through which we can
revive our churches and reach our communities.
WORSHIP MINISTRY
Queen Ester and your team you have done a good job. The workshops you held.
The prayer meetings and the practices. Your churches will surely benefit from you.
We hope you will expose more young people to service and we will eventually
achieve our ultimate goal of professionalism in service. I still urge churches to come
to the party and give us their young people. We cannot still be crying for those who
left us, we need to learn to do the best with the limited resources we are having.
ADULT YOUTH AND NYC
We are still not doing well. Most adult youth are still not significantly catered in our
activities. This year we are having a good number of them attending NYC at GNCC.
Though the conference is viewed as very expensive, we appreciate those churches
that paid for their youth leaders for this conference. This is our conference and I also
expect all council members out going and those to be elected to attend.
DISTRICT SOUND SYSTEM
We are failing to get funds from members to complete the process of purchasing
outstanding instruments. We need speakers, drums, lead and Bass guitars. If really
we want to do well on outreach lets help the church and purchase these things. If
churches can give us old speakers that are damaged we will repair and utilize for
the outreach. We can buy new speakers and insert them in the boxes.
GLOBAL CONFERENCE
We must begin preparing for the global conference. We need to make sure that we
discuss leadership. We must also make sure that we are not attending this
conference for fun. The people who attend this conference must come back and
report to structures and also make sure that really the money spend is worth
spending. I hope even this time NYI will pay fully for the person we are sending to
the Global NYI convention. I will be personally attending the conference as regional
council member and I hope our district will at least affirm the new President to attend
same. The rest will attend at our satellite in Gauteng.
FINANCES
As usual the treasure will give the financial report. I would like to thank all the
churches for paying their budgets and registrations to events. Churches like
Polokwane who even payed more and also contributed their portion for the district
sound system. Generally our church did not experience significant growth so we
cannot expect much growth on our finances.
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Establish impact teams for more evangelism in wards
2. Foster for integration of adult youth in local church activities
3. District council seek ways of accounting to structures
4. Get pastors involved in NYI activities
5. Rehabilitation of members
6. Visit churches that need assistance
7. Leadership development
CONCLUSION
Finally let me say thank for an opportunity to serve in this office. I was made a better
person in many ways. I had an opportunity to interact with many people and
personally my life has improved. The church of the Nazarene has been and still is
my spiritual home. To the district superintendent thank you for your patience,
guidance and leadership. To all the pastors, council members and all youth leaders
thank you very much, we served together and I expect you to support the coming
District chair .He or She cannot be me yet I have confidence that the new leadership
will do more and better. Let us be reminded how David was elected King, nobody
expected him to emerge, but God appointed him. When Israel was facing Goliath,
nobody believed that he will immerge against Goliath but he emerged victorious. I
have full confidence to all the young people we worked with. The many years we
have been together surely you have proved your worth and that you have what it
takes to take the baton and run. We cannot run anymore it is your time. Thanks once
more to all who supported NYI
Respectfully submitted

Dominant Issues
2016 was a difficult year in the sense that for the first time in more than 20 years, the DAB had to
deal with the issue of improper sexual moral conduct of 3 pastors in one year. The 3 of them Rev MJ
Magowa, Pastor NM Seemola and a ministerial student Promise Manyaka were put on suspension.
The report of the District Ministerial Credentials Board is a testament to this fact.
Other dominant issues were the following:
Plot registration
Churches that needed urgent attention
District NTC Learning Centre program
Roofing of Makgodu and Phuthaditshaba Church of the Nazarene
Pastors’ salaries
The minutes of the DAB are filed and kept safe.
The DAB would like to inform this Assembly that this year there will be elections for all the District
Boards and Committees including the election of a DS. This is the case due to the fact that all the
Boards in the District were elected in 2013 and 2015 respectively to serve until the end of 2016. The
reference for the matter mentioned above is found on page 30 of2014 Delegate Handbook.
The DAB would like to thank each and every single one of you for your support and prayers for the
work of God on the District.
May the good Lord bless you more abundantly?

Pastors and delegates. You are greeted in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In this world we are temporary and our permanent dwelling place is in the Kingdom of God. We

of the Church triumphant in the Kingdom of God
1. Mafefe Church : Koko Makgoale Elizabeth Motebejane
2. Makgofe Church : Mme Mampedi Martha Molete
3. Seshego Church : Rakgolo M.A Malope
4. Mathibela Church : (i) Mr. Motumisheng Confidence Chiloane
(ii) Mrs. Phumelele Nokukhanya Chiloane

As an Assembly we send our condolences to the families and Churches of the departed beloved
ones. The words of comfort come from Job 1: 21-22: “I was naked when I was born, and I will be
naked when I die, the Lord gave things to me, and He has taken them away. Praise the name of the
Lord” In this, Job did not sin or blame God
We encourage the families and their fellow Church members to trust in the Lord who is able to
comfort and sustain them. He alone knows and directs the future. And He knows how to make all
things in the future work for our good.
