Professor Jim Foley has trouble hearing and wanted an app that could help him.

Google glass has the solution

- Team of Georgia Institute of Technology and Foley created this speech-to-text app for hard-of-hearing users.

- Captioning on Glass is currently available to install from MyGlass

- Foley and his team are also working on a second project

Translation on Glass - Capture sentences spoken into the smartphone and translate them to another language.

- Only difference is: Person wearing the Glass, after reading the translation, can reply.

- Response is translated back to the original language on the smartphone

“If hard-of-hearing people understand the speech, the conversation can continue immediately without waiting for the caption. However, if I miss a word, I can peek at the transcription, get the word or two I need and get back into the conversation.”
