Key Learning Outcomes: Changes and amendments to legislaon, codes of pracce and relevant Australian Standards Key pares to the consultaon in the workplace and their WHS legislave obligaons and dues of care Maintaining communicaon and consultave arrangements for the workplace through toolbox meengs, inspecons, workplace observaons and commiee meengs Revision of the dues and obligaons of a health and safety representave It is now a requirement from WHSQ that all persons who have aended the 5 day Health Safety Representave training should aend the refresher training every 3 years aſter the inial training to keep currency of skills & knowledge required to carry out their dues. Face to face classroom delivery will be used to facilitate the underpinning knowledge requirements. Assessments will be conducted throughout the course. On successful compleon parcipants receive a Statement of Aendance for the HSR refresher training. ASSESSMENT Workplace Health and Safety Qld approved course Clear understanding of current legislaon, its frame- work including entlements, funcons, powers and protecons of a HSR. BENEFITS WHO SHOULD ATTEND This training applies to people who are elected by a designated group as a Health Safety Representave or deputy HSR across all industries that have completed the inial 5 day training more than three years ago. PREREQUISITES Prerequisite is you must have completed the 5 day programme in order to aend this refresher course. Proof of this will be required. LEGISLATION/COMPLIANCE New amendments to the WHS Act and WHS Regulaon commenced in QLD on the 1st July 2018. This refresher course has been developed for Health and Safety Representaves to keep their skills and knowledge current and up to date with changes and amendments to legislaon and reinforce the training of the 5 day programme. LANGUAGE LITERACY & NUMERACY (LLN) To complete this course successfully, parcipants need to have reasonably well developed skills in areas such as reading, wring and communicaon. WHSQ-HSR-RFS01 - HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE REFRESHER TRAINING PROGRAMME

COURSE OUTLINE

Approved by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) this refresher training will provide existing HSR’s with current knowledge and skills to continue to carry out their duties as required by WHS Act 2011 and the WHS Regulations 2011. Key Learning Outcomes:

Changes and amendment’s to legislation, codes of practice and relevant Australian Standards

Key parties to the consultation in the workplace and their WHS legislative obligations and duties of care

Maintaining communication and consultative arrangements for the workplace through toolbox meetings, inspections, workplace observations and committee meetings

Revision of the duties and obligations of a health and safety representative
