To apply the learning and make tangible improvements in your own organisation, participants:
• Explore emerging practice, theories and trends
• Complete major work-based projects as well as other assignments
• Study business success stories – and some unsuccessful ones – that are from
the transport and logistics sector
• Develop pathways for enhancing capability of self and teams.
Underpinning the program is the development of a practical working knowledge of the five
principles of exemplary leadership through:
• Undertaking consultation and research
• Provoking and capturing interest in business improvement
• Thinking critically and commercially in collaborative settings
• Presenting to peers and decision makers
Leadership is not about personality; it’s about behaviour—an
observable set of skills and abilities. When senior leaders are at their
personal best there are five exemplary behaviours common to all:
they Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process,
Enable Others to Act, and last but certainly not least, they Encourage
the Heart.
Great leaders have integrity and credibility. A strategically-minded
leader is both resolute and flexible, persistent in the face of setbacks
but also able to react strategically to environmental shifts. You will
discover how to think and plan strategically and navigate the
unknown effectively - the abilities to anticipate, challenge, interpret,
decide, align, and learn.
