What the RTOC committee have been up to in Jan/Feb 2010:

Page 2: RTOC Newsletter

We’ve got quite a few things going on at the moment, keeping us all busy; here is a brief overview on some of the Committee goings-on. Understandably, some members have expressed an interest in knowing what happens behind the scenes, so from now on our aim is to update regularly and keep all members in the frame.

Area Reps - Ashy has been working on co-ordinating the newly elected Regional Area Reps and within the next couple of weeks, it’ll be advertised who they are and what is required of them. Alongside this, Scoff is working hard at creating an interactive map, which when each area is clicked on will display members within that area. This might take a while to do as the efficiency of this depends upon every member having a correct address and postcode setup within their account - we need to run an exercise to update these first; it’s a big job!

Contacts and Discounts – Dawn (D4WNO) is in contact with many companies arranging new discounts for the full members to benefit from. If you have any ideas or suggestions on companies for her to approach, please do drop Dawn a PM or post on the forum with a request. Every month any new contacts will be advertised on the newsletter.

Events – StuTHC has his hands full with arranging RTOC’s 2010 events, keep an eye on the Events and Calendar sections of the forum for updates.

Club Shop – Lee has been running the club shop from his own home and keeping a tight ship on our stock. Remember, the club also offers a discount to full members so grab a bargain while you can. http://www.LINKTOSHOP.comCheck out the discount code available to full members here http://LINKTOCODE.com

Site Downtime – You have probably all spotted the site go down quite a few times recently. Scoff has been the man taking control of getting it up and running again. With Scoff’s personal life being so busy currently there is not time to investigate further into why our provider is periodically unreliable. But credit goes to Chris for reuniting us with RTOC and its contents so rapidly whenever an issue occurs.

Parts – StuTHC and IanS have both been concentrating on looking into new sought-after Renault parts to be designed, made and sold in the club shop. This is a long and expensive process so does take time. This is great for those members who have been previously unable to source OE parts for their Renault, with the added bonus that the club has invested in the design and manufacture costs on behalf of the members.

Wizard – The Wizard feature is still being used and our Wizards have been dishing out technical advice in their droves. We’d really love if more use was made of this great feature, whether you just wish to ask a question about your engine management, need turbo suggestions or you need advice on how to fix a simple oil leak. Remember, it’s a fantastic knowledge base for previous questions so any historical questions can still be searched on.
