37 Rules and Guidelines Guidelines for MFA Professional Practice/Production Practice 1. Students are required to complete and submit the Proposal for Professional Practice/ Production Practice/Special Project/Independent Study/Internship form for each registered Professional Practice or Production Practice at least two weeks before the Professional/ Production Practice starts. They can submit the abovementioned Form at least two weeks before the semester ends if the Professional Practice/Production Practice starts during Academy’s long breaks, e.g. Christmas, Lunar NewYear, and summer breaks. 2. If the Professional Practice/Production Practice spans two semesters, e.g. begins mid- semester in the first semester and completes mid-semester in second semester, an ‘SP’ (Satisfactory Progress) or ‘PQ’ (Progress Questionable) grade will be given in the first semester and then in the following semester,a standard grade (A through F) will be given after the practice is completed. 3. Normally, if students are unable to complete their Professional Practice/Production Practice by the stated completion date, an ‘Incomplete’ grade will be given.A new completion date will be given as agreed upon by the students and their advisors, this is normally one week after the start of the next semester. 4. Normally, if students still cannot complete their Professional Practice/Production Practice by the agreed deadline, the ‘Incomplete’ grade will be converted automatically to an ‘F’ grade. 5. If students complete their works by the deadline but they cannot be assessed by the grading deadline, an ‘SP’ (Satisfactory Progress) grade will be given. 6. Normally, students should commence their final Professional Practice or Production Practice before they register for the Thesis Project, i.e. by the third semester for full-time students or by the antepenultimate semester for part-time students. Guidelines for MFA and MMus Thesis Project General Guidelines 1. Permanent Record 1.1 All master’s degree candidates are required to submit a record of their Thesis Project (for the MFA and MMus degree). One copy (for retention in the Academy Library) must be presented in a permanent and legible form according to the specifications set out below: (a) The written components of Thesis Project must be typed and bound with DVD recording(s) of the practical components included as a permanent and integral part by means of pocket(s) attached to the inside of the rear board of the binding. (b) The binding must be fixed so that leaves cannot be removed or replaced, i.e., signature (sewn) bound.The front and rear boards should have sufficient rigidity to support the weight of the work when standing upright. The GEC and the Library will provide binding service by an outsourced binder.

1.
