Rules 1. Each team must have FIVE players on their roster (no more/no less) 2. Every player should be eligible to play in the tournament (Age, ethnicity, etc.) a. Refer to tournament rules to check if player qualifies to play b. ID’s may be checked by convenor if any conflicts arise and any player who fails to provide an ID will be disqualified from the tournament 3. In case of a disqualification of a player, team forfeits that game but has the option to add another (eligible) player to their roster before their next game 4. Any player belonging to a team that has been disqualified from the tournament may NOT join another team if they are in need of a player a. Violation of this rule will lead to disqualification of the team that has added the ineligible player 5. Each team will receive 10 minutes to warm-up and gather their team before the game starts 6. If a team fails to show up 30 minutes (at least 4 players) after the schedule game time they will be forced to forfeit and receive a loss for that game a. If the incidence occurs again for a second time the team will be disqualified 7. In case of an injury, the team cannot add another player if they are still FOUR players that are able to play 8. If the team has less than 4 players available for a game due to injury or another justified reason, they may add another player to their roster that is NOT already part of the tournament a. This player will be added to the official roster in place of the injured player and will be required to play in the remaining games 9. Any inappropriate attitude on the court will lead to immediate disqualification of the team 10. Any other conflicts that come up will be dealt by the event organizers

Regulations

1. A bracket style tournament or round robin style tournament may be used depending on the age group and the number of teams (this decision is up to the event organizers)

2. Game length will depend on age group. Generally, a. U13 – Two 10 Minute Halvesb. U16 – Two 10 Minute Halvesc. U19 – Two 12 Minute Halvesd. Men’s - Two 12 Minute Halves

3. All age groups with the exception of U13 will be played full court 4 on 4 with one substitute player per team

a. U13 will be a half court 3 on 3 game, with 2 substitute players4. Any type of foul (shooting or blocking) will result in a sideline inbound 5. Any type of violation (travel, charge, etc.) will result in a sideline inbound 6. An Out of Bounds call will result in an inbound from the area it went out7. A player is able to commit a maximum of 5 fouls

a. On the 5th foul the player is ejected from the game and cannot returnb. If two players commit 5 fouls each, the team forfeits the game

8. A shot clock of 35 seconds may be used in the semi-finals and finals depending on the willingness of volunteers to take responsibility

9. Score will be counted by 2’s and 3’s 10. Winner will be decided by the team leading at the point when the time is up11. Game clock will ONLY stop on the following:

a. Foulb. Timeoutc. Injuryd. Every basket in the final 2 minutes of a game

12. Each team has TWO (2) timeouts PER halfa. These do not carry over if they are not used

13. If the score is tied at the end of a game, 5 minutes will be added as “Overtime”a. Each team receives one extra timeout for Overtime

14. A jump ball will be used to start the gamea. Loser of the jump ball starts off with possession in the second halfb. OT will have another jump ball to start

15. A possession arrow will be used to settle jump balls, which will be switched every time a possession changes

16. If a game is won by 20+ points, the team will receive only 20 points as their win differentiala. This is only applicable in the case of a tie

Tiebreaker

If two teams are tied after the round robin games, the following tiebreaker rules will be used in this respective order until one team excels:

1. Score differential2. Points Allowed over the round robin game3. Another 30 minute game with 15 minute halves
