Friendship Square This is Uzbekistans largest cinema/concert hall. It is equipped with 8 channel sound and possesses the capability of seating 6,000 people when operating in its cinema mode.It has one of the most luxurious and well maintained interiors decorated with ornate plasterwork in a style that I can only describe as Uzbek.The name comes from a dedication to the friendship of the people who came to Tashkent to help rebuild the city after the 1964 earthquake which destroyed most of the old city.

Peter and Pauls fortress
WhenPeter the Great (founder of the city) re-claimed the lands along theNeva Riverin 1703, he decided to build a fort to protect the area from possible attack by the Swedish army and navy.
The fortress was founded on a small island in the Neva delta on May 27, 1703 (May 16 according to the old calendar) and that day became the birthday of the city of St. Petersburg.
Blood of the Savior Cathedral
Church of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is known to as the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood - or even just the Church on the Blood - as it marks the spot where Alexander II was fatally wounded in an assassination attempt on March 1, 1881.
Designed by Alfred Parland in the style of 16thand 17th-century Russian churches, the Church of the Resurrection provides a stark (some would say jarring) contrast to its surroundings of Baroque, Classical and Modernist architecture.
