What a night!

Numerous Roanoke Valley businesses celebrated the 2015 Roanoke Valley Choice Awards during the inau-gural cocktail reception and awards ceremony Sept. 29.

The Daily Herald-sponsored event, held in The Cen-tre at Halifax Community College in Weldon, offered business owners and employees the first opportunity to hear who Valley residents selected as their favorites and pick up their certifi-cates.

Dozens turned out for the night’s festivities, which included a cocktail hour catered by david’s Restaurant and a live award show featuring numerous local entertainers.

The five nominees in each category (businesses and servic-es), published in the Sept. 2 and 9 editions of the newspaper, were chosen through online and print ballots available to the public.

“We’re pleased with the attendance and positive response we’ve received for the live event,” The Daily Herald Publisher Titus Workman said.

The Daily Herald plans to host the event, which is open to the public, in 2016. Further details will be released next year.

“We’re already working on ideas to make next year’s event big-ger and better,” Workman said.

What a night!

Numerous Roanoke Valley businesses celebrated the 2015 Roanoke Valley Choice Awards during the inau-gural cocktail reception and awards ceremony Sept. 29.

The Daily Herald-sponsored event, held in The Cen-tre at Halifax Community College in Weldon, offered business owners and employees the first opportunity to hear who Valley residents selected as their favorites and pick up their certifi-cates.

Dozens turned out for the night’s festivities, which included a cocktail hour catered by david’s Restaurant and a live award show featuring numerous local entertainers.

The five nominees in each category (businesses and servic-es), published in the Sept. 2 and 9 editions of the newspaper, were chosen through online and print ballots available to the public.

“We’re pleased with the attendance and positive response we’ve received for the live event,” The Daily Herald Publisher Titus Workman said.

The Daily Herald plans to host the event, which is open to the public, in 2016. Further details will be released next year.

“We’re already working on ideas to make next year’s event big-ger and better,” Workman said.
