PRINCIPAL’S REPORT This week students interested in joining our Band Program will have the opportunity to trial musical instruments. Year 1 Percussion trials will take place today and Years 2 to 5 on Thursday.

Congratulations to our Percussion Ensemble for their inclusion in the Ryde Schools’ Spectacular to be held at the Opera House in October. This is the first time we have been selected to participate in the Band Section of the program. The group will accompany the mass choir with a ‘Drum Line’ performance.

Thank you to Kelly Centellas and her band of helpers who prepared a delicious breakfast for our fathers and significant males last Thursday. We had a record turnout and were entertained with our String

Ensemble and very funny ‘Dad Jokes’. We were lucky to have so much support from local businesses to make this occasion such a success.

ART CALENDARS Art Calendar orders are due this week: if you haven’t already placed your orders please do so!

You can order printed calendars, sketch books, diaries, mouse mats and cards featuring art work that your children will be producing in class. These make beautiful keepsakes and are also a great idea for gifts. You will receive the products in Term 4 (with plenty of time before Christmas).

There are now sample products on display in the office foyer and most teachers also have sample products in their classrooms if you would like to have a look.

As well as the artwork produced in class, if you wish, you can submit photographs or other artwork e.g. work produced by siblings, or a family project. Photos can be submitted online at www.kidsartworks.com.au. Note that the artwork must be produced on the designated art paper (available from the office) and these must be landscape format for calendars and mouse mats.

This is a fundraising event and all profits go back to the P&C to assist our school.

Any enquiries to Tully Sharp-Butler 0414 671 923 or at [email protected]
