S-GEAR CONVEYOR SYSTEM
The S-Gear structure system has been developed in response to changes in the industry
requiring larger capacity conveyor systems. In the case of longwall Maingate systems,
requiring mobility to regularly install and remove the structure, this has resulted in component
weights increasing toward and over the upper limit of manual handling capabilities.
The “S-Gear” ™ system uses an ergonomic design approach to reduce the potential risks.
Removing the requirement to manually handle the structure, and where this is not possible,
reducing component weight as far as practicable to allow safe, simple installation and removal
of the structure.
KEY BENEFITS: Manual handling is significantly
reduced
Reduced installation time
Reduced stoppage time during retraction
Reduced structure damage, easily stored
Variable H frame spacing provided simply with varied stringer length (convex curves)
Scalable system, available from 1050mm to 1800mm

STORAGE
Simple storage facilities may be interconnected, providing neat
efficient storage of many kilometers of structure in a small
footprint. (150m2 per KM). Simple weather protection can be
added to increase roller life.
TRANSPORT
The transport pod provides the capability to install and
remove the return rollers, enabling the structure to be loaded
within the continuous belt envelope. Transporting machine
hydraulics are utilised for this function.
MULE
The mule facilitates installation and retraction of the
conveyor structure, allowing up to 130m of structure to
be loaded in or out before reloading. Stringers are
contained on the mule also and can be either installed
as the conveyor is extended, or removed during
retraction. Powering of the mule can be pneumatic/
hydraulic or electric hydraulic per site requirement.
STRUCTURE
The S-Gear structure it’s functional in it’s own right and
can be installed without any other associated equipment.
Tracking of the carry belt is achieved with simple levering
from either side of the belt. Return tracking provided and
maximised edge clearance maintained. Structure is
offered across the full range of belt widths.
