I had a couple of those moments recently. We had a special financial need at Warner Chrisan Academy, the school founded by White Chapel forty-five years ago. Our church gave over $27,000 in a special offering! What a great statement of support for our children and youth of this community. This past week my wife put a request on our church Facebook page for help in paying for costumes for some of our children in our Wednesday night drama club, in less than fiſteen minutes eight people responded and commied $20 each! Our church collected school supplies for every child in our Single Moms ministry. These things speak volumes about one of our core values of children and youth. Great job! I watched the Republican debate (the second one) and quite honestly it sounded prey much like each person was sharing scripted talking points. Towards the end of the de- bate there was discussion about drugs and legalizing marijuana. The candidates were sharing their thoughts when Carly Fiorina quietly said, “I have strong opinions on this subject since my husband and I lost a child to drug abuse.” Suddenly it got quiet and real on that stage. I am always amazed how personal pain can give a sense of authority to our words. This was not a talking point; this was thought born out of suffering. We are in a new series called “White Picket Fences” and have been discovering how much family life has changed in America since 1960. The number of broken families and blended families has nearly tripled. The number of single parents has risen dra- macally. We can pretend the family is the same, but it has changed and it is important that we allow God’s word to speak to the pain of our families. I had a single mom say to me recently, “I came here broken and without hope. I sll have lots of problems, but now I also have Jesus and lots of hope in my life.” Those words should not surprise us; Christ is in the forgiving, restoring, healing and transforming business. He brings: Healing to the broken Forgiveness to the sinful Hope to the hopeless Transformaon to those trapped in a painful past. Many years ago John Newton wrote a tune that bears witness to this reality. “Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.” I hope that grace dwells deep in your heart today. You are Loved, Pastor Steve

4GivenMarriage Sunday Morning Life Group @ 9:30

Maybe your spouse can’t make it to class or maybe they aren’t willing. Don’t let that stop you from joining us. We will be emailing out our lesson each week to review and go over together at home.

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

If your high schooler or middle schooler isn’t currently a part of a church or a youth group, we’d love for them to join us on Wednesday nights in the White Chapel Youth Room (just inside the south entrance of the main White Chapel building).

Here’s our schedule for each Wednesday:6:00-7:00pm - Hang Out in the Youth RoomDuring this time, all of our students check-in, and they are able to purchase pizza, soda, & snacks.

7:00-8:15pm - Game, Lesson, & CommunionAt 7:00pm, we transition into a time that is designed to help our students understand and apply a specific Biblical truth. We are currently working through a series called “I Am Second” that deals with helping our students articulate their own stories of how they came to faith in Christ. We are also using this time to ask our students to purposefully pray for their friends and family members who do not yet know Christ.

If you would like for your 6th-12th grader to participate in our Wednesday Night Youth Program, please feel free to simply bring them by between 6:00-7:00pm on an Wednesday night, or contact Pastor Josh at [email protected] so that he can answer any questions that you might have.
