Aromatherapy massage is suitable for learners wishing to progress onto an advanced Holistic Therapy programme. It is designed to encourage you to develop the personal skills and qualities you need to access work within the Holistic therapy industry. How long is the course? This is a one-year programme studied on a part time evening basis at the West Bromwich Campus. Tuesday evening 5.30-8.30pm. What are the entry requirements? You need to be qualified in Swedish Body Massage, which includes the underpinning knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology required for the Aromatherapy programme. The programme is by interview only. What does the course involve? This programme provides an opportunity to study the practice and theory of Aromatherapy. Students will study essential oils and carrier oils, blending and application, nature of unsafe oils, contra indications, employment and business standards and learn a specific Aromatherapy massage. How will I be assessed? Through written and practical formative and summative assessments. Formative assessments take place continuously during the period of training. This 'record of progress' is to show how and when individual competencies were gained (early stage of assessments). Summative assessments are the final ones. These will show in which units the learners have become competent. You will also be required to undertake an external written assessment and provide case study evidence. The Foundation Level will start to develop your skills in double entry book-keeping and give you an understanding of management and administrative processes. You will learn how to use manual and computerised accounting systems and to work with the purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger. How long is the course? The AAT Accounting Qualification is split into three levels, Foundation, Intermediate and Technician. Each level consists of a number of units and is a qualification in its own right.
