Classroom

• Voicethread • I am very excited about Voicethread and the many possibilities for using it in the

classroom. I found the interface extremely user friendly and their website full of ideas.

• Animoto• Loved the ability to access an online source to create videos. Although, I wish the

free version would give more than 30 seconds, I still can see some fun uses with 30 seconds in the classroom. One that that jumps out at me is having the kids make a persuasive commercial which ties into our writing curriculum.

• iMovie• I don’t think you can beat Apple products. Although, I am a bigger fan of Final Cut

Express, iMovie is great to make a quick movie with some fancy title slides and easily add music.

Most Useful Tools

• Learning about the numerous online tools both for audio and video.• Getting a better understanding of images sizes and

files, very helpful.• Creating useful videos for the classroom.

Successes

• Sifting through all the information that is out their regarding video and audio editing. This course helps to streamline this process.• Some of the websites are blocked by the school district,

for instance, Voicethread can not be viewed at school. However, I can put a request for it to be unblocked.

• In general, the time it takes to create some of the video projects and lack of proper equipment at work.

CHALLENGES

Moodle and Online Learning

LOVE IT!!• I am a proponent. I love being able to complete the course on my timetable. Also, I find the communication to be very easy with the other members and I have picked up a lot of tips from them.
