Hymn Join All the Glorious Names #301 (1-5)

Join all the glorious names of wisdom, love, and pow'rThat ever mortals knew, that angels ever boreAll are too poor to speak his worth, too poor to set my Savior forth

Great Prophet of my God, my tongue would bless thy nameBy thee the joyful news of our salvation cameThe joyful news of sins forgiv'n, of hell subdued, and peace with heav'n

Jesus, my great High Priest, offered his blood and diedMy guilty conscience seeks no sacrifice besideHis pow'rful blood did once atone and now it pleads before the throne

Thou art my Counselor, my pattern, and my GuideAnd thou my Shepherd art; O keep me near thy sideNor let my feet e'er turn astray to wander in the crooked way

My Savior and my Lord, my Conqu'ror and my KingThy scepter and thy sword, thy reigning grace, I singThine is the pow'r; behold I sit in willing bonds beneath thy feet

Silent Prayer of Confession

Corporate Prayer of ConfessionAlmighty God, we acknowledge and confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. We have not loved you with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength; we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. Please deepen within us a sorrow for the wrong we have done, and the good we have left undone. We confess that we are unrighteous and unworthy to be called your people, prone to wander from your ways. We confess our transgressions of pride, anger, impatience, greed, and the many sins that grieve your heart. But God, for the honor of your name, we plead your mercy! You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Would you work in us that which is pleasing in your sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon Hebrews 9:13-14For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

Hymn Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken (Lyte/Moore)

Jesus, I my cross have taken, All to leave and follow thee

Destitute, despised, forsaken, Thou from hence my all shall bePerish every fond ambition, All I’ve sought or hoped or knownYet how rich is my condition! God and heaven are still my own

Let the world despise and leave me, They have left my Savior, tooHuman hearts and looks deceive me; Thou art not, like them, untrueO while thou dost smile upon me, God of wisdom, love, and mightFoes may hate and friends disown me, Show thy face and all is bright

Man may trouble and distress me, ’Twill but drive me to thy breastLife with trials hard may press me; Heaven will bring me sweeter restOh, ’tis not in grief to harm me, While thy love is left to meOh, ’twere not in joy to charm me, Were that joy unmixed with thee

Haste thee on from grace to glory, Armed by faith, and winged by prayerHeaven’s eternal days before thee, God’s own hand shall guide us thereSoon shall close thy earthly mission, Soon shall pass thy pilgrim daysHope shall change to glad fruition, Faith to sight, and prayer to praise

The Heidelberg Catechism Q. 27Leader: What do you mean by the providence of God?People: The almighty and everywhere present power of God; whereby, as it were by his hand, he upholds and governs heaven, earth, and all creatures, so that herbs and grass, rain and drought, fruitful and barren years, meat and drink, health and sickness, riches and poverty, indeed, all things come to us, not by chance, but by his fatherly hand.

Prayer of Intercession

Tithes & Offerings Malachi 3:10Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
