myParish App

At St. Lawrence we are actively pursuing new opportunities to foster a stronger parish life and better engage the New Evangelization. As a part of these efforts we are happy to an-nounce that St. Lawrence Catholic Church now has it's own app for Apple and Android phones.

Our new app will allow us to send you useful and important messages throughout the week regarding our parish life and events, and allow you to reply to messages or RSVP for events.

Below you will find just a few of the app features that you can access. In the com-ing weeks we will focus on one Feature-of-the Week. Please note that once you download and open the app you will then “create an account” to access some of the app features, including the “Group” icon. There will be no need for parishioners with smart phones to remember to silence their phones before Mass. The app will send you a reminder to silence your phone 20 minutes before the Mass you select. Many more great features will be a help to all of us, such as, daily Mass readings, Catholic news, prayers and prayer reminders, quick access to online tithing, group messaging, Confession reminders, and our weekly bulletin. So, be sure to download the app after Mass today by visiting myparishapp.com or searching for myParish on your phone's app store, or by texting App to 88202 and stay connected with us all week long.

Next Week’s Second Collection is for the Retirement Fund for Religious. Your generous contribution helps to care and support for the retirement needs of senior sisters, brothers, and religious order priests. It also helps ensure that younger members of religious orders can continue the good works of their elders!

Archbishop Appeal Only 4 Weeks Left! We quickly reached our goal in pledges for this year’s Archbishop’s Annual Appeal (AAA) back in February, and that represented tremendous generosity and commitment! Now the challenge is to fulfill those pledges in the remaining 4 weeks of 2016. As of this week, $90,000 in AAA pledges from St. Lawrence parishioners still remain to be paid. Remember that all funds donated to the Annual Appeal above our parish goal will return to us for the further reduction of our parish construction debt and oth-er critical improvements. Please do your best to fulfill your Annual Appeal pledge before the end of the year. If you have any questions or concerns about this year’s AAA, please con-tact our bookkeeper, Janet Volion at 770.963.8992 x304.

Stewardship

We must be good stewards of God’s gifts to us, receiving them gratefully and cultivating them with care, lest we be the ones about whom John the Baptist speaks today, cautioning us, “Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”
