This newsletter is intended to inform all our ex- isting and potential members of events occurring within the society and the coal processing industry as a whole. We welcome your feedback, suggestions, etc for future newsletters. On 27 July 2017 we had our Knowledge Exchange techni- cal seminar where Enelex shared their experience re- garding GE 3000 online ana- lysers at South 32, Middelburg and Johan de Korte gave two presenta- tions one on Larcaderms and the other on Coal Process- ing 101. It is extremely worthwhile to attend these technical seminars in order to keep up to date with developments within our industry. Our aim is to provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge related to coal processing by means of meetings, conferences, seminars and colloquia. One of the society aims is to further the education and understanding of coalprocessing by Society members and industry personnel

50th Anniversary of the SouthernAfrican Coal Processing Society

We are planning a special commemorativebook which we would like to invite you all tobecome part of to celebrate our 50thanniversary in 2018This high-quality leather-bound coffee tablebook will trace the history of not only theSouthern African Coal Processingbut of coal production and beneficiation andthe role it has played and still plays within theregion.Some of the topics that have been consid-ered will be:

● The development of the Richards BayCoal Terminal (RBCT) and the TFRline between Witbank.

● This is a perfect example of apublic/private partnership;
