Sacred Heart Catholic Church Second Sunday of Lent –March 12, 2017 Reflection from the Pastor: At many times in our lives, our faith is tested to the point that we may feel (but never believe!) that God is very far away from us, and that it’s all pointless. At those moments, and today as well, we should think about Jesus’ Transfiguration. The disciples had faith in Jesus, but He knew that they needed a special moment to give them hope in their darkest hours, after His crucifixion and before the Resurrection. Jesus also gives us many “Tabor moments”, when He very lovingly shows us His presence in our lives. It may be a special feeling of closeness in prayer; or the healing of a loved one after illness, or it may be a feeling of peace after someone we love dies, perhaps even when everything and everyone around us is not peaceful. It might be simply the enjoyment of the day, accompanied by the knowledge that God intended us to enjoy this day. Whatever our “Tabor moments” might be, we should treasure those moments and remember them often. God wants us to have confidence in Him, and those moments are proofs of His love for us. Fr.
