Sacred Heart Church has a position open for a Youth Minister. The Youth Minister will be responsible for developing and implementing a parish-based pastoral ministry that reaches out to middle and high school students in our parish to help them grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Sessions begin Wednesday, September 7th

Sacred Heart Church provides catechetical classes (CCD) for all students in PK4 through 12th grade who are not attending Catholic schools. Classes for PK4 through 12th grade are held each Sunday morning from 10:00am—11:15am.

1) Two years of religion classes are required for first reception of the sacraments of Penance and Holy Eucharist.

2) High school students, who are faithful in attending weekly classes and completing the course of studies, are eligible to be candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation which is celebrated in the Spring of the second year of preparation.

3) Volunteers to assist with the program as catechists, aides, or other support personnel are needed. Information on the Religious Education Program can be found on the Church website at www.SHCRockport.org. or by calling Gloria Scott @ 361-729-9203

Registration begins in late July. Classes begin Sunday, August 28th.

Three orphaned siblings are forced upon confirmed bachelor Donovan (Bixby) in a 19th century boom town of Quake City, CA. After an earthquake shakes the area, the children

find a large gold nugget worth tens of thousands of dollars. But their newfound wealth is causing more problems than it's

solving, so they agree to "give" the gold to two bumbling outlaws (Knotts & Conway). But

they only way they can get the gold is to steal it from the bank vault where it's being held

for safe keeping.

Raymond Pendleton, our summer seminarian

will be leaving us in early August to return to

Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving, TX.

On Sunday, August 7th please stop by the

fountain area after Mass to wish him well.

We will be serving donuts, sweet breads,

coffee & juice for all to enjoy!
