ment of Management, to

on 17 October 2018 for

cred Heart Girls’ First
Grade College,
Mrs.Mamatha HoD of
Management,
Asst.Prof.Sr.Prema,
Asst.Prof.Mrs.Abhinaya.
G. It was indeed great
and inspiring for the stu-
dents.
All the children in
orphanage were every
smart, kind, enthusiastic
in approaching others.
There were 30 children in
the orphanage. All the
little children despite of
their ability of being left
outwere very happy with
all that they had in the
orphanage.
There are people who
leave their children in
orphanage in spite of tak-
ing care of them with
love and affection for
various reasons.
All the children actively
participated and enjoyed
all the games. If they
were given good training
in the field of their pas-
sion like dance, singing,
etc, then they would
shine better than others.
The Department of
Management contributed
books, stationeries,
chocolates, biscuits to the
children and they enjoyed
a lot with us in that short
span of time.We could
see beautiful smile on
their faces which is price-
less.
We reached our col-
lege at 3:00pm having
gained some humanity
and we feel that we are so
blessed to have such car-
ing and loving parents.

AICUF: organized a visit to
the Jerome Home for Desti-
tute Widows on 13th October
2018, from 9.00 am to 12.00
pm. The visit was organized
by Rev. Sis. Mary Vijaya,
secretary of Sacred Heart
Degree College and Mrs.
Neha Susan George, Assis-
tant Professor, Department of
Humanities along with stu-
dents of different depart-
ments.
All the students gathered in
the college by 8.00 am. The
AICUFERS contributed some
items to the institution. The
contribution was from the
college management and by
the students. We collected
items in the form of degrad-
able and non-degradable
items such as detergents,
soaps, oil, semolina etc.
Then at sharp 9.00 a.m. the
students were asked to board
the bus and with a small
prayer we began our journey
to the old age home, at
around 10.00 a.m. we reached
the old age home where Sis.
Glenda welcomed us and ad-
dressed all the students.
We then met the people
who stay at old age home
who were eagerly waiting for
our arrival, all the students
were extremely happy to see
the mothers who were so
happy to see us. For almost
one hour the students inter-
acted with the mothers. They
got to know about them and
their problems. Most students
where touched by their sad
stories.
Harshitha R from 1st BA per-
formed a dance for the gath-
ering. This changed the mood
of the both the mothers and
the students. Next a game
was organized for the moth-
ers. The game was “Passing
the Pillow” where the pillow
was passed from one person
to another and when the mu-
sic stopped who ever had the
pillow either had to dance or
sing for everybody present
there. This uplifted the mood
of the occasion. Both students
and mothers thoroughly en-
joyed the game.
Finally “Antakshari” was or-
ganized by Ayesha and Asma
from final year B.Com. Two
teams were formed and we
sang various songs. We took
pictures before we started to
leave. The visit ended with a
group picture with all the
mothers. Students took the
blessings of the mothers and
we started our journey back
home, some with damp
eyes, some with a lesson and
some with great experience
and with a promise that we
will come back soon to visit
them.
This visit to the Jerome Old
Age Home not only made us
aware of the social issues but
also made us to learn a lesson
that how important our par-
ents are for us and how much
they need us, and it is our
duty to fulfill their needs and
wants.

AICUF. It was conducted by
Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier who
started the retreat with a prayer

of prayer, he briefly explained
about the different kinds of
prayers by narrating the stories
of saints as example, who sac-
rificed their lives for the
greater cause of God. He in-
spired and encouraged stu-

world of vanities, to cling to
God at all circumstances of
our lives.
Father also encouraged the
students to deepen and de-
velop our talents with prayer
