CHILD CARE SUBSIDY (C.C.S.) Child Care Subsidy is available through Family Assistance Office (FAO). Please see the Director / Co-ordinator for more information or ring FAO 136150. Our CRN 555-010-326 T you will need to quote this number to FAO to receive CCS. Even if you are claiming a lump sum at tax time you still need to register with the FAO and let them know that you wish to pay full fees as we need your CRN to submit your usage forms. CHILD CARE REBATE (C.C.R.) Child Care Rebate is available through Family Assistance Office (FAO). This is where you could get up to 50% of out of pocket expenses per child each year up to an annual cap. Ring FAO136150 to find out more. SIGNING OUT Parents MUST sign their child in/out for every session. If you are unable to pick your child up, the Assistant Director must know either, in the form of a letter/email or by phoning. Photo I.D. will be asked for if the person picking up your child is not on the enrolment form or the staff does not know the person. The person signing must be 18 years of age. If someone under the age of 18 needs to pick up a child, a form available from the Assistant Director must be completed by the parent. NO SMOKING Smoking is prohibited all times in OSHC. No tobacco is to be smoked on any part of the premises whilst children are on the premises and / or while the services is running. PARENT INFORMATION Parent information must always be kept up to date. If you change your place of work or your phone number, we must know ASAP as this is in the best interest of your child. COMMUNICATION BOOK This is a book that is up on the sign out table. Please write down any comments you may have, or if there is someone else picking up your child/children let us know or if they are going to be away. Photo ID will be required by anyone that is not known by staff. Write down any information that we may need to know, or any ideas you may have for our program.

DAILY PROGRAM Upon arrival children have a settling down period (quiet time). This is done so we can call the roll and ensure all children are on the premises. Once we have called the roll the children are to wash their hands before sitting down to have afternoon tea. Depending on the day we have set activities and outside play most days. As our time is limited we try and fit in as much as possible. Every week we do cooking, craft and set games. The daily program is on the program bench in OSHC room for you to view if you wish. Our program is planned around the framework for school aged children, My Time, Our Place.

6

DISCIPLINE OSHC works on a warning system if the child has had three warnings they are moved away from others & the activity to reflect about what they are doing and to come back once they have done so. If the child has hurt another child through rough or spiteful play the child will go to a quiet area to do an activity (drawing, reading, toys) and miss any special activities we are doing at the time and parents will be informed of this. If a child gets to a point where he/she is not going to listen and the child’s behaviour gets out of hand the parents /guardian will be called to collect the child. CHILDREN LEAVING UNACCOMPANIED If you wish your child to go a sports venue without an adult, we will only do this if the event is held on our premises. All children must be collected by an adult (18+). We do not let children leave unaccompanied from our service and will not encourage this practice. CANCELLATION OF CARE Two weeks notice will be required for cancellation of care for both full time and part time children. This is to be done in writing. If you wish it can be done via the communication book. In lieu of notice 2 weeks full fees will be required. All fees must be finalised upon cancellation of care. We would also like you to fill out a cancellation of care survey which can be obtained by a staff member. Holiday Care notification of cancellation of a booking must be given at least 7 days prior. FOOD The children have a healthy menu each week and a range of different fruits on alternative days. On some Fridays they may have a special treat. This is why on the enrolment form you are asked to fill in any foods you do not wish your child to have. If your child is on a special diet or has food allergies please let us know, as we try our best to meet their requirements where possible. During holiday care children will need to pack a healthy morning tea and lunch we will still provide afternoon tea. Staff will not re heat food. Children may also have opportunities to cook their own lunch, depending on the program. ATTENDANCE All students enrolled in the service need to be signed in and each day. Parents/Carers are responsible for the sign in at Before School Care and sign out at After School Care. Staff will sign out in the morning and will sign in each afternoon. If students are picked up from school after 2.50pm, parents must sign the child out at OSHC, or notify the OSHC staff by 3pm.

Safety of our children is our 1st priority At all times the Assistant Director must be informed if your child / children will not be attending OSHC either by phoning the school and leaving a message or in writing by using the communication book. If you receive CCS from the FAO you are entitled to 42 care days off per financial year before you are charged full fees. Doctor certificates & rosters will be required as supporting evidence.

You MUST sign all days away on the iPad. If your child is unwell or has an appointment, you must get a certificate and this does not go towards any days away. Please check the bottom of your accounts paid statement for how many days your child has had away.

7

HEALTH If your child is unwell whilst in care you will be called to collect your child, this must be done as soon as possible. If you are unable to collect your child please make arrangements for a friend or relative to do so and inform OSHC of who will pick up the child. Photo ID will be required. MEDICATION Medication will only be administered if the medication record is filled out. All medication must be provided in the original container stating name, medication and amount on it and this must be obtained from the chemist / doctor, clearly labelled with a chemist label. On arrival to service hand medication to OSHC staff and medication record filled in. Medication must not be left in the children’s bags. Children will not be given any medication without signed medication record. Panadol will not be given unless written instructions from a doctor are provided. Certain medication will need a letter from your doctor. A Plan must be done for Allergies, Anaphylaxis & Asthma. See a staff member. PERSONAL ITEMS OSHC does not take any responsibility for toys or personal items brought to After School Care as we do not encourage toys at school. However, on occasions this will be allowed under special circumstances. OSHC still does not take any responsibility for these items. SUSTAINABILITY In OSHC & HC we try to be a sustainably conscious service where we recycle, reuse and educate on the benefits of living a sustainable lifestyle, not using power when not in a room and thinking about products we could reuse or have an alternative option to stop wastage. We collect food scraps for family pets – pigs, chickens or compost bins to turn into fertilisers in the school garden. We also email accounts to families cutting back on the paper wastage. We encourage and educate on the impact our choices can make on the environment around us. If you require more information on this or any other matters, please feel free to contact us.
