Baby Shower for Birthright: Baby Shower for Birthright: Baby Shower for Birthright: Baby Shower for Birthright: January 22nd was the
46th anniversary of Roe vs Wade in the United States
Supreme Court. A way of memorializing this
infamous date by positive action is to help new
mothers who are disadvantaged economically. Most
abortions in the U.S. are the result of decisions
affected by socioeconomic conditions such as poverty,
single motherhood, and educational disadvantage. A
future mother can be encouraged to give birth to her
baby with material aid, which is available through
Birthright of Topeka, an organization aiding pregnant
and postnatal women and their children. A baby crib
has been placed in the North vestibule at Sacred
Heart Church to receive baby supplies (formula,
diapers, mother's supplies, etc.). Cash donations may
be placed in the offertory collection in a plain
envelope marked "Birthright Baby Shower" marked
with your name and Sunday envelope number. Please
remember those who have ultimately made the right
decision by your considerate aid. Sponsored by
Knights of Columbus Council #2608.

I thank all our parishioners who have
been faithfully fulfilling their pledges, and urge you to continue in your financial commitment to this campaign and project. Through
your generous sacrificial response to this campaign, we are not only honoring God, first and foremost, we are also giving honor to
our ancestors who sacrificed so much to build and provide for us such a holy and inspirational place of worship. It is our
responsibility as their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and descendants to maintain what they worked so hard to build.
May the Lord be glorified by our generous efforts and may he grant us hearts filled with charity. Let us show our appreciation to the
Lord for the many blessings we have received by abundantly sharing our gifts with Him. Blessings, Fr. Tim Haberkorn

“Living the Discerning Life,” “Living the Discerning Life,” “Living the Discerning Life,” “Living the Discerning Life,” by Fr.
Timothy Gallagher, offered by
Glory to God Community. The
second episode is called, “The
Enemy Hinders Those Seeking God:
The Path of St. Augustine.” Just as
God tries to draw us near, Satan
tries to pull us from God. Fr.
Gallagher explains the 14 rules of
St. Ignatius using the example of
St. Augustine. He shows how we
can easily fall into sin and have the
inclination to stay there instead of
repenting and following God’s path
for us. Thursday, February 7th, in
