In our Gospel today, Jesus asks this question: “Who do you say that I am?” “And Peter answered, ‘You are the Christ’”. Can you answer this question along with Peter and really mean it? Take some quiet time to re-flect on your answer. If you really believe that Jesus is the Christ, how can you not share this good news with others? Share your story.

FOOD and TOILETRIES DRIVE
The Sacred Hearts Conference of St. Vincent de Paul would like to thank the parish for their generosity. Your candle offerings and offerings in the
collection help us to do God’s work. A special thank you to those who continually give food and/or toiletries; you help feed the hungry.
Since our last notice we have used your donations to distribute 30 Easter dinners, prevent evictions by helping with rent, and provide used refrigerators to 2 families who would have gone without refrigeration this summer. We also provided food to many needy families.
We are presently in need of food and toiletries, especially cereal, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, canned pasta, crackers, shampoo, tooth paste, tooth brushes, soap and lotion. Food and toiletries can be brought to the church and left in the boxes in the hall or delivered to the rectory.
We are here if you or someone you know in the parish needs us. Please help by making us aware of any parishioner in need of our services. If you call the parish office and leave a message on extension 140 we will contact the person.
God bless you all.

Archdiocese of Boston Removes Rev. Christian Ohazulume from Ministry BostonCatholic.org Tuesday, September 11, 2018 The Archdiocese of Boston today announced that Rev. Christian Ohazulume, an extern priest from Nnewi, Nigeria, has had his faculties to minister removed as a result of receiving an alle-gation of sexual abuse of a child on August 31. The allegation was identified to have occurred in 2007, during a time he was residing with a family upon his arrival in the United States. Rev. Christian Ohazulume has been employed as a Chaplain at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center since 2010. He has resided at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Brookline since 2010 where he has assisted in celebrating Mass and hearing con-fessions. The Archdiocese of Boston immediately notified law enforcement. In addition, the Archdiocese has been in contact with his home Diocese of Nnewi, Nigeria and informed them of the allegation and that his faculties to minister have been with-drawn in the Archdiocese of Boston. The Archdiocese was advised by law enforcement to delay until today release of this information while they initiated their investigation. The Archdiocese of Boston is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our parishes and institutions. Through its Office of Pastoral Support and Outreach, the Archdiocese continues to make counseling and other services available to survivors, their families and parishes impacted by clergy sexual abuse and by allegations of abuse by members of the clergy. Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley encourages any person in need of pastoral assistance or sup-port to contact the Archdiocese’s Office of Pastoral Support and Outreach by calling 617-746-5985. About the Archdiocese of Boston’s Child Protection Efforts Since his installation, Cardinal Seán has made it a priority to create safe environments in the Archdiocese’s churches and schools and to continue to support all people impacted by clergy sexual abuse. The policies and practices of the Archdio-cese include working with law enforcement agencies and community professionals to report and investigate instances of sexual abuse, annually screening approximately 50,000 clergy, employees and volunteers, and implementing effective pre-vention training programs. In addition, through the Office of Pastoral Support and Outreach (OPSO), the Archdiocese con-tinues to reach out to those who have been harmed by the tragic reality of clergy sexual abuse in order to provide pastoral help and counseling services to survivors and their families.

Remember the priests who have been there in your time of need, and consider honoring them with a generous gift to this special collection. You may also make your gift online at clergytrust.org or you can donate $25 through your cell phone by texting the word PRIEST25 to 20222 (msg. & data rates may apply). Meet Father Donohoe-“I am with you; wherever you are, wherever you go, I am with you.”Father Stephen Donohoe embraced a vocation to serve as a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston. As a young man, he felt the rst signs of God’s presence in the Holy Eucharist; that force would become what he describes today as “the bedrock of his priesthood.”
After ordination, Father Donohoe became a military chaplain. During deployment, he provided for the spiritual needs of men and women facing combat. He never abandoned those entrusted to his care and stood by them at every point. Father Donohoe continues this steadfast ministry today in the parishes of the Archdiocese. He says “a great joy of ministry is to see the grace of God enlighten the lives of other people. If we bring people to the Lord, He’ll do everything.”
To help ensure priests like Father Donohoe are cared for as they live out their vocation, please support the special collection on September 15-16.
