TASK 1:

Corona Warriors – The heroes of the Pandemic

Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being at all ages is essential to sustainable

development. Currently, the world is witnessing an intensifying COVID-19 disease burden, but

with the various stages of the journey of virus, the list of fighters- ‘Corona Warriors’ also

expanded. They are working relentlessly during this pandemic. Let us all show gratitude and hail

our corona warriors. Make a puppet/prototype/miniature (using locally available material) of any

one corona warrior and on an A4 size sheet, describe it in 80-100 words.

TASK 2:

Travel Brochure: Life on Land

Nature has blessed India with mixed geographical conditions, making it a suitable place for a

wide range of flora and fauna to flourish. India is home to a large variety of wildlife. It is home

to Bengal tigers, Asiatic lions, the great Indian rhinoceros and many others. These are preserved

in National Parks, bio-reserves and wildlife sanctuaries, among them many are located in the

seven sisters of North East India.

Make a travel brochure on any one of the National Parks or Wildlife Sanctuaries located in India

on an A4 size sheets. Use photos, colour schemes and descriptive texts to make it attractive.

Give emphasis on the following points:

TASK I:

PLACE VALUE HANGER

‘Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.’

COVID – 19 pandemic has taken its toll in everyone’s lives. But the two vaccines-

COVISHIELD and COVAXIN has shown a ray of hope in tough times for all of us. Design a

Place Value Hanger to depict some good numbers using the instructions given below.

What do you require? Sketch pens , coloured paper , beads / buttons / colourful circles , any

adhesive for pasting , scissors , white A4 size sheet etc.

What you have to do?

1. Browse internet and collect data about the total number of people vaccinated with either

Covishield or Covaxin in any 3 states of India till May 01, 2021and add it.

2. Take any hanger at your home and decorate it using your creativity.

3. Hang the labels of the places as shown in the picture below and represent the added data

on it.

4. Insert beads / buttons/ paste coloured circles for representing the digits of the added data.

(Use same colour beads/buttons to represent the digit at a place.)

5. On a white A4 size sheet draw the table given below and complete the information asked.

TASK 2:

CRACK THE CODE

‘Ensure healthy lives and promote well being for all at all ages’– is one of the Sustainable

Development Goals taken up by UN i.e. Goal no. – 3 – “Good Health and Well Being” . Keeping

this idea in mind design a fun game which is interesting as well as informative using the code

chart given below. (You can create your own code chart as well).

What do you require? Sketch pens, coloured papers , scissors , white A4 size sheet etc.

What you have to do?

(1) Take 20 square shape (or any other shape) cut- outs of an appropriate size. You can

decorate it using your innovative ideas.

(2) On 10 cards write codes depicting the names of any 10 different healthy food items using the

given code chart. At the back of each card write one advantage of eating that healthy dish.

(3) On the other 10 cards write codes depicting the names of any 10 different unhealthy food

items using the given code chart. At the back of each card write one disadvantage of eating that

unhealthy dish.

(4) Shuffle the cards and ask your friend/ family members to decode the names of the healthy/

unhealthy food items using the code chart.

(5) The player can use the information written at the back of each card as hint.

(6) Make your video (of 2 minutes) while playing this game with any friend / family member

and then share it with your respective teacher.

(7) Also click clear pictures of your cards and mail it to your teacher.

Fruits and vegetables are the cornerstone of a healthy and varied diet. “As the COVID-

19 pandemic continues to affect the health and livelihoods of people across the world, we must

come together to ensure that nutritious food, including fruits and vegetables, reaches all, leaving

no one behind. Healthy food provides abundant nutrients, strengthen immune systems and helps

to lower the risk of corona virus disease.

The UN has declared this year as the International Year for fruits and Vegetables (IYFV). The

IYFV 2021 is a unique opportunity to raise awareness on the important role of fruits and

vegetables in human nutrition, food security and health and as well in achieving UN Sustainable

Development Goals.

TASK -I: STAY STRONGER LIVE LONGER:

When your parents bring packaged food items next time, pick the ones you like the most

and analyze the nutrients present in that particular packaged food item.

To perform this task, read the labels of the food products you pick very carefully. You will notice

that every food pack bears nutritional information on the label. Arrange packets of five different

food items (Group 1). Note the nutritional information in the table given. Make a data table ( On

A-4/A3sheet ) with various headings like protein, carbohydrate, fat and total calories present .

Compare the nutritional value of these five products with nutritional value of home cooked food

which you eat every day.

Analyze which is good for you specially in this pandemic to fight against Covid-19.

Use the internet to research the nutritional value of the food items of Group -2. Compare the

nutritional values of different nutrients present in two groups.

MEDICINAL PLANTS:

Apart from the modern-day medicines and synthetic drugs, there are many medicinal plants. We

use them effectively to treat common ailments and even life-threatening diseases. One such plant

is Tulsi.

Tulsi leaves are used to treat cold, cough, bronchitis. It's a wonder herb which is beneficial during

the pandemic to treat Corona virus disease.

Find out about at least 4 more medicinal plants which are known to be beneficial to humans, and

write their medicinal use (On A-3 /A-4 sheet). You can draw/paste the pictures of these plants

and mention the edible part of the plant.
