2017 KENYA AIRWAYS - EAST AFRICAN SAFARI CLASSIC RALLY

SAFARI TOUR FOR SPECTATORS AND FANS

The tour organized by the rally organizers, gives an experience of the wilds of Africa in Kenya and Tanzania.

This is the stage for an ideal opportunity to see the splendour of wildlife, in the

game park and at the same time get to watch the action, as it unfolds while the

cars race across the African Plains in “The toughest Rally of the World”.

The KQ Safari Classic is a revival of the famous East African Safari Rally, an unusual speed sporting spectacle born of our exotic cultural motoring heritage

pitting man and woman in their battle for survival against the rough African motorsport terrain.

ITINERARY

Tuesday 21st November, 2017

Arrive at Mombasa Airport where you are met and transferred to your Beach

Resort Hotel. Relax at the hotel and by the beach for the day and watch technical checks, Scrutineering and the rally cars at the rally hotel.

Wednesday 22nd November, 2017

Spend the day by the pool or on the beach and watch more activity at the rally hotel. For those interested a Mombasa City Tour can be arranged by the

organisers. At 19h00 you are invited to attend the Rally Welcome Cocktail by the poolside at the Rally Hotel. Here you will have a chance to meet all the

competitors and officials. Enjoy an early dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Thursday 23rd November, 2017

After an early breakfast, depart to see the rally cars in action on the way to Taita

Hills. Early lunch and freshen up at Taita Hills Lodge. Proceed for overnight at the famous Amboseli Game Park Lodge at the footstep of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Overnight

here. Park fees for entering Amboseli National Park is included in this tour.

Friday 24th November, 2017

Leave lodge early to see the rally action on the route. Packed lunch on the way.

Afternoon return to the lodge. In the evening go for a game drive in the Park.

Saturday 25th November, 2017

After an early breakfast, depart to see the rally action in the sections. Proceed to

Voi Wildlife Lodge for Lunch. Afternoon free to watch the game at the lodge or laze around the pool.

Sunday 26th November, 2017

Depart early morning and see the rally action at the end of section one. Proceed to Neptune Beach Resort and Spa on the South Coast – Diani. A long drive today!

Monday 27th November, 2017

Today is the rest day for the rally. Spend the day at the beautiful Diani beaches. If you wish you may go to the Service Park to see the rally cars being serviced in

the morning. Neptune Beach Resort and Spa will be organizing various excursions

and can be booked directly.

Tuesday 28th November, 2017

Go and see the rally action in one of the sections. Return to the hotel for lunch and see the cars coming into the service park in the afternoon.

Wednesday 29th November, 2017

Catch up rally action in two different sections. Afternoon relax by the beach.

Thursday 30th November, 2017

Leave South Coast and proceed to Mombasa. See action on the way. Overnight in

Mombasa.

Friday 1st December, 2017

Have a leisurely breakfast and relax. See the finish from 12 noon at the rally

hotel.

At 1900 hours – Prize Giving Party and Dinner at Whitesands Hotel.

Saturday 2nd December, 2017

Relax by the pool or on the beach and enjoy the day.

Sunday 3rd December, 2017

Relax and pack bags for airport transfer to connect you for your international

flight from Nairobi. Only breakfast is inclusive today.

For the itinerary above including transport in a Minibus and full board

accommodation the price per person sharing a twin bedded room is USD $2150 per person.

If you like to have the same in a single room the extra cost is USD $550.

Please note that:

1. The exact route of the rally is not known until a few days, before the event so actual places to watch cannot be decided until then.

2. The quoted prices do not include your flights from your home to Mombasa or

the return from Mombasa. You should plan to arrive in Mombasa on 21st November, 2017 and depart on 3rd December, 2017. Extra nights can be booked

as well if you wish to arrive earlier or depart later at an extra cost.

3. Three meals a day will be provided some of these meals will be picnic boxes.

4. Drinks are entirely the responsibility of the client. Vehicles do have a cool box to store your drinks.

5. Visas are the client’s responsibility and can be obtained on arrival at Nairobi

Airport for Kenya or at Namanga border for Tanzania for most nationalities. It is your responsibility to check before arriving if you can get your visa in Nairobi.

6. Health documents and anti-malarial treatment should be advised to you by

your doctor.

7. Everyone must have medical insurance to cover their entire stay as this is not included in the tour.

8. Membership of the Flying Doctors will be paid by the organisers for all

participants on this tour. This entitles you to have the Flying Doctors on standby

for any air evacuation in case of accident or illness. Note the cost of the air evacuation has to be paid by your own insurance and the membership is only to

provide the aircraft on standby.

9. In the event of force majeure the proposed Safari & Tour may be rerouted and accommodation of a similar price substituted.

10. Any extra nights at the hotel in Mombasa will be charged USD $ 260 per day

for a double room or a single room at USD $ 205 per day. These rates are on half board basis. (Breakfast and dinner).
