Dear Colleagues and Friends, 'Take care to be born well...' George Bernard Shaw
The physically short yet consequentially incredible journey at the start of every human life may be easy or complicated, safe or fraught with risk, natural or guided by medical intervention. And yet it is always an uplifting and miraculous occurrence.
We are pleased to invite you to the fourth major conference activity of this MOGS year – our third targeted MOGS Conference Safe Pregnancy and Labor in Focus – An Incredible Journey being organized on October 16, 2011 at the JW Marriot Hotel. At this event we are privileged to host a galaxy of international experts – Professors Sabaratnam Arulkumaran, Wolfgang Holzgreve, Andre Lalonde, Hamid Rushwan, Gamal Serour, Dorothy Shaw, W Sumpaico and David Taylor. We are grateful to our Past Presidents Dr. CN Purandare and Dr. Shyam Desai for facilitating the participation of these leaders of FIGO and AOFOG.
The scientific programme is structured to be practical and clinically oriented and will be conducted in two concomitant sessions. Our Keynote Addresses will be delivered by Prof. Sabaratnam Arulkumaran and Prof. Wolfgang Holzgreve. The plenary sessions and the two panel discussions will give equal weightage to medical and operative obstetric conditions, therapies, technologies and techniques. The MOGS Dr. MY Raval Oration will be delivered on Contemporary Cesarean Section by Prof. W Sumpaico, Secretary General, AOFOG. The oration is open to all MOGS members. The conference delegates are entitled to participation in one of two Preconference Workshops on October 15, 2011– FOGSI - ICOG - AOFOG Maternal and Perinatal Health Committee Workshop on Contemporary Issues in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital and Practical Approach to Medical and Surgical Obstetrics Workshop at the Bombay Hospital In keeping with our commitment to reach out, each workshop is a partnership with the relevant committees of FOGSI and other partner organizations.
Since the MOGS has been granted MMC Recognition for academic activities conducted, both the conference and the workshops will earn registered delegates credit hours for participation as will be assigned by the medical council.
The One Time Registration for MOGS conferences has been availed by over a 110 members and this conference is included in the bouquet of conferences covered by the cumulative registration fee.
The Managing Council of MOGS continues its commitment to felicitate the exceptional individuals who have defined our professional lives and clinical practice. At this conference we will felicitate Dr. MN Parikh and Dr. SN Daftary – Past Presidents of MOGS and FOGSI who have dedicated their lives to our organizations, teaching and improving our obstetric practice. We request you to come to felicitate them in large numbers.
We dedicate this conference to the brave women who put themselves at risk every day as they give birth to humanity. They deserve our every effort to ensure their safety and to optimize the well being of both them and their infants.
Your participation will be your commitment to and endorsement of their right to safe pregnancy and childbirth.
