Kvetna 685 763 61 Napajedla Czech Republic Safety Alert 01 13 December 2006 Airplanes affected: all Savage Aircrafts and models Subject: New cables and Pulleys for Vertical Tail Reason: It has been reported one excessive consumption of one pulley (in one SAVAGE) into the(rudder) vertical tail – cables system. For this reason it is mandatory to change all the four pulleys and the two cables of the vertical tail system. The new cables have a new diameter of 3 mm. The new pulleys are made from different material. This job can be easily made from the owner simply removing the old two cables and the four aluminium pulleys. To ensure the assembling of the new two cables and their plastic bushings into the frame of the fuselage (see the pictures) it is necessary to cut the small steel tube on the bottom of the fuselage behind the rear seat, two times about 3,2 mm apart, stretch out a little and insert the bushing and draw back. A visual control of the alignment of the cables with the pulleys has to be made. It is possible to correct the alignment eventually screwing the steel plate of the cable, inside the rear pedals and not outside like usually is done. Bending “ just “ a little this steel plate is also an alternative. Compliance: Issue date of SA
