National Rules
2
National Rules: No Penalties for „breaking“ frangible devices
only penalised by dangerous riding rules if appropriate
3
Rules
4 options for different levels of dangerous riding:
- Eliminitation
- 25 Penalties or
- 10 Penalties (e.g. just the last fence …)
- Watch List
No need for 100% same reaction of device
Encourages innovative thinking and new ideas
Use/ Approval of deformable systems to be
decided by TD, GJ & CD

Rules
Guidelines for frangible devices
5
Rules
• Table-fences (more than 0.70m spread): must hold a horse jumping on top of it
• Falling elements must fall down directly and close behind the fence
• Falling elements must land on a 0,40m post • Falling/moving elements must never move into the landing
curve of the horse • The original height of the fence must not be changed• The deformation should not cause any sound (especially in
combinations)• The fence must react in the same way for all competitiors and
must not release too easy• The system should be easy and quick to rebuild (max. 2 mins)
Compulsory „Debriefing“ after Cross Country for OC, TD, CD and Judges
6
Rules
Fall report form: Rider analyses his fall together with the TD an are fillingin the form together if possible

=> Use of as many frangible devices as sensible/ possible at National XC training centers

Klengel system release
Klengel system – the advantages
1. impact and release situation depends on the crash angle of thehorse - no reaction of the system when a horse is sliding orbouncing on top of the rotation barr
2. controlled impact at vertical crash situation – different possibilitiesof adjustment
3. easy and fast release when the horse hits the barr from thebottom up (the most dangerous case)
4. wide range of weights and dimensions of the falling fence partspossible ? (has to be tested)
5. Table fences, roof fences, corners, and others possible6. low costs7. fast repair after release
