ACTION AREA 1 – EMBED THE HEALTH AND SAFETY LANDSCAPE IN NSW WORKPLACESEasy to Do WHS toolkit is now available on the Safework NSW website. This toolkit is written for small businesses, including sole traders and helps businesses understand legal obligations and comply with the law and create a safer, healthier and more successful business.
ACTION AREA 2 – FOCUS ON KEY PRIORITY SECTORS, HARMS AND GROUPSFive of the six Roadmap priority sectors have action plans and work is underway delivering evidence based projects and activities in those sectors.
Development of the Health Care & Social Assistance Sector Plan has commenced and we aim to have it launched mid-2019.
The At-Risk Workers Program held a public forum showcasing the Young Workers e-toolkit and the Getting Support at Work guide.
ACTION AREA 3 – BUILDING EXEMPLAR REGULATORY SERVICESThe Centre for Work Health and Safety has published a report on understanding how enforcement improves health and safety in NSW workplaces.
28 new inspectors have commenced training.
Upgrades to the asbestos and demolition notification system to enable insterstate licence holders to notify SafeWork NSW of work they do in NSW.
