SQL ReplicatorSage SQLReplicator 2.0 is an improved version of the replicator that was introduced with Sage 300Construction and Real Estate Version 17.1. Use the replicator to copy your Sage 300 Construction andReal Estate data stored in the Actian Pervasive database into a SQL database, which enables faster dataaccess for reports. The data is also available for mobile applications, such as SageMobile Dashboard,SageMobile Reports, Sage Field Operations, and Sage Construction Project Center.

You can specify that Crystal Reports on themenus use the SQL database (instead of the Pervasivedatabase) by selecting theUse SQL check box. When you access the data from SQL, reports generallyrun faster.

SQL Replicator

Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate Version 20.1 Release Notes                                                                                   Page 18

Important! Before you can run the SQLReplicator, use the Sage Universal SQL Installer to install aninstance of the SQL database to hold your data. Also install SQL Replicator 2.0 by downloading theSageSQLReplicator.exe file and running the installation on your Sage 300 Construction and RealEstate Accounting server.

If you used an earlier version of Sage SQL Replicator, follow the steps in Knowledgebase article104917 (Preparing your SQL data prior to upgrading to Replicator 2.0) before you install.

The size of the replicated data is larger than the original Pervasive data because replicator adds viewsand indexes the data. To determine if you can use SQL Server Express, add the size of the PVData,POIV Data, SM Data folders and themaster.qxm file together for each company. If the sum is greaterthan 6GB, you should use the full SQL Server version. See Knowledgebase article 85584 for moreinformation. To save space, you can configure replicator so that only certain tables are replicated.

To configure and start Replicator, use the System Administrator tool, which links to theConfigurationManagerwindow; see page 19 for more information.

The first full replicationmay take some time. Depending on its configuration, replicator may performadditional replications on a schedule or whenever your employees make changes to your company's dataso that the SQL database contains the updated data. The subsequent replications may be almostinstantaneous.

You can control security for SQLReplicator in Security Administration. If you set up new roles or makeother changes to security, click [Sync Security] on theReplicator Settings tab in theSystemAdministratorwindow so that the changes are also applied to the SQL database.

For more information about installing and configuring Replicator, see theSage SQLReplicator SetupGuide.

Note: Because Sage SQL Replicator now has a separate installer, future updates to the replicatorcan be installed without having to install a new version of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate.

Resolved issues in 20.1n Within Replicator, local paths (not UNC paths) are now always used when comparing databases forchanges and determining table rows to be replicated.

n Equipment Cost specification custom fields are now replicated into SQL.

n The CM bank account ID is no longer encrypted by Sage SQLReplicator, so reports (such as the CMBank Account Balance Verification report) that use this field for linking can be run against the SQLdatabase.

n ServiceManagement history tables can now be replicated.
