Canada Cruisetour Daily Details...............51–53

To fully experience Alaska, discover its interior, where communities remain intimately connected to the land, where wild animals roam as they have for millennia and where native nations thrive. On an Alaska cruise, you’ll journey along the southeastern coastline of Alaska, experiencing its glaciers, nature’s ever-changing and fragile masterpieces.

But with a Celebrity Cruisetour, you’ll uncover so much more. On the Kenai Peninsula, glacier-covered mountains descend into bays abundant with sea life. Journey north, and you’ll travel among the vast tundra and taiga forests of Denali National Park. A single road crosses this untouched wilderness, home to North America’s tallest peak and a stunning array of wildlife. Connect with Alaska’s Native Peoples and meet city dwellers who are as diverse as the landscapes they inhabit: from cosmopolitan espresso drinkers to anglers and mountaineers, all are part of the fascinating culture that is Alaska.

With a Celebrity Cruisetour, you’ll enjoy the best of Alaska, by combining a seven-night sailing with a small-group tour into its magnificent inland destinations. Stay in the finest available lodges and travel on remote roads and railways in deluxe transportation. All with our local Alaskan Tour Directors, who are passionate about sharing their Alaska with you. Every aspect of your journey has been carefully curated for you to discover the Last Frontier — on your terms.

| THE CELEBRITY DIFFERENCE

ALASKA TRADITIONS WITH LOCAL GUIDES.

Alaska is so much more than its living myths. Boasting lively farmer’s markets, modern art galleries and fine dining, the old Alaska intermingles with the new, its cities perched on the edge of wilderness. Our Tour Directors will get to know you and offer tailored suggestions to ensure you make the most of every destination. Whether you want to discover the neighbourhood trail where locals (and moose) ramble, or get the insider tips on which restaurant serves the freshest seafood, our Tour Directors have

you covered. Few people know and love Alaska like those who live there, and Celebrity Tour Directors are chosen for their deep roots and connection to local communities. Part raconteur of everyday Alaskan life. Part wildlife hobbyist. Part concierge, taking care of the small details like hotel check-in. Our Tour Directors are passionate about sharing their home, and bringing you seamless service, local knowledge, and the best of the interior.

Wilderness Express Rail CarsWith miles of pristine wilderness, the Alaskan cross-country journey is just as moving as the destinations you’ll explore. A highlight of every Celebrity Cruisetour is a scenic ride on the Wilderness Express rail cars. Venture from Anchorage to Fairbanks in superior luxury and comfort. Relaxing railcars offer 360-degree dome viewing windows, reclining leather seats, and spacious interiors. Enjoy fine cuisine prepared by the onboard chef in the lower-level dining section, along with full bar service at your seat, while you learn about the wilderness and the region’s rich history from your onboard host who provides commentary. With custom features like an outdoor viewing platform, the railcars of the Wilderness Express were designed to highlight Alaska’s spectacular scenery.

Motor Coaches Alaska’s remote roads reflect the intrepid spirit of its early pioneers. Celebrity uses the newest fleet of luxury motor coaches on the interior roads of Alaska. Along the miles of beautiful highway, travel in the supreme comfort of the motor coach reserved exclusively for your cruisetour. Your professional driver is dedicated to more than the road, acting as your usher to the great outdoors and ensuring point-to-point luggage conveyance.

Every Celebrity cruise is designed to inspire at sea. Sail with us in Alaska and immerse yourself in modern luxury while cruising past glaciers and some of the world’s most breathtaking coastal scenery.

Dining onboard a Celebrity Cruises ship is an experience for all the senses. The stunning main restaurant, where dining is included in the price of your cruise, is the centerpiece of the ship and a masterpiece of design, service and fine cuisine. With specialty restaurants and an array of lounges also onboard, there is something to indulge every craving. Like the classically elegant Italian cuisine of Tuscan Grille. Here fresh house-made pasta and dry-aged steaks are paired with wines from a thoughtfully chosen list that highlights Italy’s distinct growing regions and premier vintages.

Exhilarating days of exploring Alaska deserve an equally wonderful place to recharge. Unwind in luxurious accommodations where you can lounge on exquisite bedding. Revel in stylish design. Bask in breathtaking views.

Modern luxury also means intuitive service about what will make you happy before you request it — from the chocolate on your pillow to attentive pool butlers ready with a towel after your morning swim. And with our Destination Concierges on hand to share their in-depth knowledge of the ports of call, you’ll have a rich experience when you leave the ship to explore Alaska’s unique communities.

| THE ONBOARD EXPERIENCE | THE ALASKA CRUISE

JOURNEY ALONGALASKA’S GLACIAL COAST.A cruise on Alaska’s southeastern coastline offers emerald forests, snowcapped peaks and dramatic glaciers. And that’s just what you’ll see from the ship.

Comprised of the longest river of ice in North America, beginning in Canada and flow-ing 76 miles to Russell Fjord, the glacier originates at Mount Logan, North America’s second-tallest mountain. And, while 95% of the world’s glaciers are retreating, Hubbard Glacier is still advancing.

As the largest advancing tidewater glacier in North America, Hubbard Glacier’s termi-nal face is the dramatic end of a process that began 450 years ago as snowfall on the slopes of Mount Logan. Where it meets the sea, the blue wall of ice rises 350 feet above

the waterline and extends 250 feet below. Movement of up to 36 feet every day results in daily calving — breathtaking moments where ice cleaves off the wall in enormous pieces that can be the size of five-story buildings.

With calving occurring on a daily basis, Hubbard Glacier offers the best opportunity to observe glacial processes as they unfold — a truly once-in-a-life-time experience. Your captain will slowly turn your ship into Yakutat Bay,

navigating the awe-inspiring sight of the wall of ice that stretches seven miles wide. Enjoy incredible picture-perfect views from just about anywhere on the ship as our dedicated onboard Naturalist narrates the experience and keeps an eye out for the whales, harbor seals, and otters that hunt in the bay’s waters.

With its massive, ever-changing face, Hubbard Glacier lives long in the memory of any visit to Alaska.

Denali National Park boasts six million acres of pristine wild land. The varied subarctic landscape is home to grizzly bears, moose, caribou, Dall sheep and wolves, as well as endangered birds. Wild animals roam as they have for millennia through unspoiled backcountry of taiga forest, alpine tundra, and snow-capped peaks. The sheer expanse of wilderness, the solitude of the single road and its status as one of the last true, intact subarctic ecosystems, makes Denali one of the best places in the country to view wildlife in

their natural habitat. The Visitor Center offers fascinating natural history exhibits, films, and the opportunity to meet and speak to rangers about Denali National Park, including its centerpiece Denali, known as The Great One. At 20,320 feet, Denali is North America’s highest mountain, and still growing. Rising miles into the sky, the towering mountain overpowers the already impressive Alaska Mountain Range that surrounds her. An open view on a clear day is a profound sight.

Among climbers, Talkeetna is recognized as the staging ground for preparations to summit Denali. Mountaineers from around the world start here, filling the town’s hotels and bars with expedition excitement. With a population of under 1,000, Talkeetna has a small but lively local community dedicated to keeping the backcountry spirit of Alaska alive. The log cabin cafés, and heritage buildings of its historic Main Street, provide a place where you can mill with the bohemians, aviators, and adventurers who call the town home, including Stubbs, the feline honorary mayor.

The town’s unique location offers breathtaking views of the tallest peak in North America and provides access to every imaginable way to experience the magnificence of “The Great

One” — from seasoned bush pilots taking you up into the skies and over the breathtaking north face, to leisurely hikes on quiet trails, to river rafting down the glacially fed Talkeetna River.

Along Main Street, you’ll also find the full breadth of backcountry cuisine — from brew pubs to fine dining along with converted air streams serving signature dishes. During your time here, you’ll see how Talkeetna lives by her unofficial motto, ‘“Talkeetna; Where the road ends and life begins.”

ALASKA LAND DESTINATIONS

The highly protected backcountry that makes up the majority of the park is cleaved only by a solitary road. It runs 92-miles into the wilderness and stretches through bottomland taiga-evergreen forests, into the higher elevations that offer open views of the tundra-covered slopes and river valleys, all framed by the indomitable Alaska Range. And, while the backcountry’s pristine wilderness is protected, Denali’s front-country is open to

a range of activities. Flightsightseeing planes soar over the mountains for breathtaking views, while rafting on the Nenana River can be a gentle float or a white-water ride. With the hinterland open to biking, off-roading and hiking, Denali National Park offers both active adventures and time in unspoiled nature.

| ALASKA LAND DESTINATIONS

Blending cosmopolitan excitement and the great outdoors, the city’s youthful exuberance contributes to its lively nightlife, eclectic dining, and sense of adventure.

Beyond the city limits of ‘Alaska’s Big Apple,’ nature commands the terrain. As many as 60 glaciers are located within an hour’s drive. Urbanites can go for an icy hike by day, by night enjoying city life under the late evening sun, socializing at a downtown brewery over a local craft beer. Even on weekdays it’s not uncommon to find a suited city worker angling for a catch on a lunch break.

Unlike any other American city, Anchorage boasts 250 miles of trails, sees moose passing

through its neighborhoods, and is visited by whales that surface in the waters alongside the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. And long summers days mean more time to explore its natural beauty by day and sample its innovative frontier fare long into the evening.

Anchorage is home to Native Peoples from around the state, making the city the destination for discovering local history, art, and crafts at the heart of Alaskan identity. The Anchorage Museum preserves an extensive collection of native art, spanning prehistoric times to the present day. And the Alaskan artifacts at the Smithsonian Arctic Studies Center were curated and interpreted with help from the Alaska Native Heritage Center, a renowned cultural center and an exciting place to connect with indigenous residents.

The pristine wilderness of the Kenai Peninsula is home to nesting seabirds, countless islands, wetlands, and breathtaking coastal views. And, as the gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park, the Harding Icefield — an expanse of ice and snow created over 23,000 years ago — is easily within reach. The throngs of wildlife that course below, and glide above the glacial waters, are legion. Here pods of humpback whales are known to breach when hunting, seals and sea lions lounge on rocky outcroppings, and bald eagles hover overhead.

The rugged landscape suits Seward’s hardy locals well. Every July 4th, Seward’s runners race 1.5 miles up and down Mount Marathon. Starting at sea level, the race rises 3,000 feet in elevation over very steep terrain. Runners race over gullies, ice, and snow, using their

hands to haul themselves to the finish line. And, when not racing up mountains, you can find them at town watering holes and dining spots, where you can savor fresh Alaskan seafood, filleted and flayed straight from the ocean to your plate.

Situated at a grand natural intersection where bays and fjords at the edges of the Pacific meet the crested wilderness — and connected to communities extending northwards via the famously scenic Seward Highway — Seward is emblematic of the wildly beautiful state that is Alaska.

Born of a turn-of-the-century trader who found himself stranded in what is present-day downtown, Fairbanks was founded when gold was discovered nearby. The trading post blossomed into a thriving city that outlasted its gold rush boom. Today, locals pride themselves on their independence and endurance, many having descended from Native Peoples and the intrepid prospectors whose self-sufficiency was the driving force of the town’s creation.

Hugging the northern bank of the Chena River that converges with the Tanana, the Chena sternwheelers that navigate Fairbanks’s waters afford breathtaking views of the city and countryside, while also offering a glimpse of the region’s heritage.

Fairbanks calls itself “extremely Alaska,” and you’ll discover why during your explorations. Here you can soak in the same hot springs that soothed the tired muscles of gold-seeking miners 100 years ago. Pan for your own fortune in nearby creeks that still yield the golden flakes. Admire the native art and treaures on display at the Museum of the North, whose shimmering contours reflect the surrounding ranges.

With locals at play well into the night (like at the Midnight Sun baseball game held every summer solstice), your options are as long as the sun-filled days. Fairbanks is also your gateway to the Arctic region, whose remote communities maintain longtstanding traditions and an authentically Alaskan way of life.

Tucked in a luxuriant glacier-carved valley, encircled by the Chugach Mountains and border-ing a temperate rainforest, Girdwood is a playground for the artists, extreme athletes, and senators who call her home.

Walking up Mt. Alyeska along the trails dotted with wildflowers to enjoy sensational views, is as pure a Girdwood experience as a helicopter ride to an alpine camp, where Alaskan sled dogs are waiting to be driven.

The luxurious Alyeska Resort is the area’s premier hotel, offering a perfect blend of service and hospitality while keeping you connected to the beauty of your surroundings. Journey to the top of the mountain on the Aerial Tram. From the 2,300-foot summit, the glistening view of the seven hanging glaciers is awe-inspiring. In addition to the many outdoor attraction and pursuits, you can indulge in fine dining at the mountain top and luxuriate in a restorative treatment at the resort’s serene spa.
