All of our readings give us examples of good shepherds. In the gospel, of course, Jesus describes in great detail the duties and responsibilities of a good shepherd, and identifies himself as the premier Good Shepherd. In the first reading Peter, continu-ing his testimony, responds to his audience with a tenderness that softens his harsh rebuke and invites them to repent and be baptized. In his letter, Peter consoles those in his community who are suffering for their faith. How do you recognize the good shepherds in your life?
