Holidays and seasonal transitions are important times for reflection on what is important in our lives and defining a new path. Consumerism is a major cause of the environmental issues that we face. Recycling is great, but Reducing is best. At this time of year, we are bombarded with advertisements encouraging us to buy gifts and spend money on material things. All of these tangible thing take energy and resources to produce which have long term impact on the environment. Looking for ways to simplify your Christmas?

The Catholic Free Press will be running an article on alternative gift ideas. Complement your Advent wreath with a food donation. Dear Brothers and Sisters, There is a common bond that we all share as a community that comes together to worship God. God has created us for rela-tionship. God has designed us with the need to be loved and has given us the capacity to love one another. While we can choose many different communities where we are able to live out this desire, there are two communities that God has chosen for us: our families and the Church. WE ARE GLAD YOU’RE HERE!! Love you all, Fr. Juan

Celebrating a New Year

at St. Denis

Mass will be celebrated for the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God on: December 31 (New Year’s Eve) at 7:00 PM

and January 1 (New Year’s Day) at 8:00 & 10:15 AM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Pope Francis’ Prayer for Families

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplate the splendor of true love,

to you we turn with trust.

Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that our families too may be places of communion and prayer, authentic

schools of the Gospel and small domestic Churches.

Holy Family of Nazareth, may families never again experience

violence, rejection and division: may all who have been hurt or scan-

dalized find ready comfort and healing.

Holy Family of Nazareth, make us once more mindful of the sacredness and inviolability of the family, and its

beauty in God’s plan. Jesus, Mary and Joseph,

graciously hear our prayer.

Anointing of the Sick “Is any among you sick? Let him call for the presby-ters of the church, and let them pray over him, anoint-ing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the pray-er of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:1416)
