Remain in me, and I will remain in you.
For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine,
and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. John 15:4
On January 19th, I led the best Leadership Team Meeting I
think I have ever had the privilege of leading. Your Leaders
are faithful followers of Jesus and look to our future with
complete reliance upon God to provide all we need. I wish
more of you could have been there to experience the
tangible presence of the Holy Spirit.
As we have in the past, the Leadership sets out two goals for the church to accomplish. They are similar to
last year’s in that they address how all of us will be intentionally faithful to God so that God can make us
fruitful. Fruitfulness is something we are all called to be for Christ. And so to that end, here are the two goals
for Saint James this year.
1. Everyone bearing fruit, sharing the Good News, everywhere out loud.
This means that we will begin being more vocal about our lives in Christ. Things
like praising God for everything from finding your car keys to finding a sale at the
store by saying “Thank you Lord!” or “Praise the Lord” out loud so people can
hear you. It is being invitational to our friends and those who are suffering. And it
means getting out of our comfort zones having faith that God has gone before us
and is waiting for us to show up and speak!
Evaluation of success will be validated by actual stories of witnessing.
2. Make loving followers if Jesus Christ of those who come to Saint James
Connect - to God and to us (Sit with new folks and engage in fellowship with them.) Care - involved in study, fellowship, spiritual growth (Invite to women’s group, men’s
group, Life Group, or other activity) Commit – service (invite to serve in outreach)
Evaluation of achieving goal will be an uptick in worship, small groups & service.
These are good goals that each of us should strive to live into. It is the difference of being Christian in name
or a Christian in life. So, let us be faithful to God and do as we are called to do so that God can make us
fruitful now.
Walking Loudly in Faith With You,
Pastor Shirley

Trustees Wish List
We are working towards sprucing up the Fellowship Hall over the next
few months as we are now making use of the space for dinners and yoga
class. We also have other groups (HOAs, an NA group and Cub Scouts)
using that area for meetings.
Below is a wish list we have for items needed to make the area more
presentable/usable. This may lead to more groups wanting to use the
area. Monetary donations are always welcome also.
Paint and roller covers (we have enough
brushes) for painting the class rooms so
they may be used for meetings
Microwave for heating food for Wednesday
night covered dish dinners or special event
dinners we may have.
Plumbing repairs in the kitchen sinks to
make dishwashing/cleaning up easier after
dinners.
Ceiling tiles to replace those that have
been damaged or stained.
Kneedle Knots If you would like to learn to knit
or crochet or already know how
we have a group for you. The
Kneedle Knots will be meeting

share and join us immediately after worship.
This is a great time to visit with or to get to
know your shepherd and their other sheep.
Your shepherd will provide dessert for your
table. See you there! Visitors are welcome as
there will be plenty of food and seating.
Yoga Classes
We have engaged a yoga instructor, Marjorie
Crawford, there is a $5 fee for each session.
