Prayer changes lives.
Let us pray for you
or a loved one.
I have no idea how this happened, but I am one and a half weeks away from retirement. If you check my office on Wednesday the 26th it will be clean. One of the two times my desk has been visible here. The other time was the day I moved in.
People have asked if I am scared, if I am ready and if I am happy about retirement. To all those ques-tions I give a qualified yes. First, know I will miss you, as the people are the church. Change always brings some fear and anxiety. However, it is time for me to hand this great parish off to Father Eu-gene and I can go home, back to the family farm that
I love, knowing you will be well cared for. Knowing Saint Joseph will move for-ward, that you have a great team in place, I can say “yes, I am ready. I am happy”. I will pray for the parish and I will pray for the families and I ask you pray for me.. I do have a twinge of guilt. On the Sunday we celebrated my Golden Jubilee our Sunday Collection was short by nearly $6,800.00, partially because we did not take a collection at the Jubilee Mass. That single Mass is a large part of the $14,888.54 we are behind for our entire year (ends June30th). If you have the ability to help bring our budget into balance I would appreciate the support. Remember you can make one time donations (or set up your scheduled gifts) by going to our website and look for “Online Giving” on the banner below the photo or use the Saint Joseph App on your smartphones. You may also contact the office for more information on ACH options with German American Bank.
God Bless You, Father Ray
Prayer to Saint Michael
Saint Michael the Archangel ,
defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell, Satan, and all evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP
R E C O G N I Z E G O D I N Y O U R O R D I N A R Y M O M E N T S
The Church is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic. That oneness is mirrored for us in the Holy Trinity: one God in three Persons. We are a diverse community with different backgrounds, cultures, realities, and gifts, but we are truly one. Unfortunately, we too often for-get this and function as a fractioned body. We needlessly compete against one another, judge one another as opposed to help, and sit silent when our brothers and sisters call out for help. When we take seriously our steward-ship way of life, we see our lives as not truly belonging to ourselves. We want to offer our very existence to God and the Body of Christ. If we find that we
are resistant to that fullness of gener-osity, or we begin to use our gifts in a way that fractures community, we then actively work in contrast to this mark of the Church. The Church that was established by Jesus and fortified by the institution of the sacraments cannot be destroyed and deprived of Her four marks. The human element may be strained and injured, but not even the gates of hell will prevail against this institution alive in the Spirit. Our actions can either bear witness to that reality or it can bring offense. Let us pray that enough of us will choose the holy way so all the world may see that God is real, Jesus is alive, and we are ONE. - Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS

WELCOMING
COMMITTEE
SUNDAY, JUNE 30, 7 PM
Kundek Hall
Please join us as we plan our offi-
cial welcome for Father Eugene,
Father Homero, and Father An-
drew.
Your help is needed!
As I come to Saint Joe, I look forward to meeting the people and celebrat-
ing Mass in this beautiful Church. When time allows, I enjoy going to high
school sporting events, so I hope to see many of the Jasper Wildcat
games. My favorite Saint is probably St. Isidore, the Farmer, because I
grew up and worked on a farm until I was 31 years old and he is the pa-
tron saint of farmers and rural communities. I do think Saint Joe is also
an admirable Saint because of his quiet but faithful life he lived. One of
my hobbies is playing golf and The Packers. My favorite food is just meat
in general but especially pork but I also enjoy a good steak.
• Father Eugene Schmitt
Hi there! Peace be with you. I’m Fr. Homero Rodriguez, born and raised in
central Mexico. I emigrated to the U.S. more than a decade ago and joined
the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. As a missionary, I studied Philosophy in
San Antonio, Texas. Years later, I graduated from Oblate School of Theology,
also in Texas, and I was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Evansville in
2016. My favorite saint (I have too many favorites) is Saint John of the Cross,
and my favorite food (other than Mexican food) is Italian. I like reading, going
to the movies, fishing, and pretty much anything outdoors. I’m really looking forward to
serving you all and being part of this community. Blessings to all! And Go Cubs!
• Father Homero Rodriguez
My biggest passion is the Church. My hope is that the entire world might
come to know Christ in the Church’s truth, beauty, and goodness. We can al-
ways talk more about my passions over my favorite meal, any food shared
around the table with others! Surprisingly, my favorite saint is Saint Andrew,
Andrew the Apostle. I like him because he is obviously my namesake and al-
so the first time we meet Andrew in the Gospel accounts is when he is invit-
ing others to come experience the goodness of Jesus Christ. Other than that,
I love reading, hiking, and sipping on Kentucky’s top export in the evenings. Pray for me
and know of my prayers for you. • Father Andrew Thomas
Lord hear our prayer…
Gracious and Loving God, as you prepare the heart of our new pastor and associates for their journey to our parish, we ask…. As their loving Father, protect them. As their faithful Teacher, guide them. As their Divine Master, bless them. As their Comforter, hold them close to You.
Guide the faithful in our parish to open our hearts to your will and help us to trust and follow your shepherds on earth.
Lord we ask that you accompany Father Brenner, Father Traylor, Father Pratt, and Father Estrada as they begin a new chapter in their life.
Saint Joseph, pray for us, Amen

WHAT IS MINE
ENCOURAGE DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF SCRIPTURE
If God is one, how can He be three? The most intelli-
gent theologians have racked their brains over the
problem, and the most prayerful ones have surren-
dered to the mystery. How it can be, we can't explain.
But what it means, we can join! Our God is an ever-
unfolding relationship. Theologians speak of the im-
manent and economic Trinity. The Trinity is immanent
in the sense that the Persons are close and entirely
sufficient within Godself. In other words, God doesn't
require us for God to exist. The word economic is root-
ed in the Greek word for management of a household
or family. The Trinity is economic in the sense that
God has invited us to be part of Him. He's growing the
family! We see the dynamic here in today's Gospel.
Jesus says the Spirit "will take from what is mine and
declare it to you" and that "everything that the Father
has is mine." There is relationship here. Jesus speaks
(and is) the word of the Father. The Holy Spirit speaks
what He hears from the Son. The Father gives every-
thing to the Son, and the Spirit speaks that inher-
itance over us. God invites us into the Trinitarian
family!
The doctrine of the Trinity isn't something to brush off
as overwhelming. After all, "the Spirit of truth... will
guide you to all truth." This occurs most perfectly in
the Church, who protects all that has been revealed
by God in Scripture and gradually unpacked in tradi-
tion. We can trust the declarations of Her theologians
and learn from the lives of Her saints. The Trinity may
be a mystery, but, by the grace of God, we can have
real truth about who God is and how we can love like
Him.

SHARING THE GOSPEL
When you are choosing what to do, the Holy Spirit
will help you make a good decision. If you are
tempted to do wrong, the Holy Spirit will make you
stronger, more powerful, and wiser than you could
ever imagine. The Spirit will get you out of a bad
situation. With help, you will say, "No," to evil ways
and "Yes," to the will of God, your heavenly Father.
PRAYER
Holy Spirit, teach me right from wrong. Help me
find the true pathway to heaven.
SOMETHING TO DRAW
Draw yourself and the Holy Spirit flying, biking, or
jogging together on the path
to heaven.
MISSION FOR THE WEEK
I will ask the Holy Spirit to help find all children
who are lost.
