The need for highly skilled health care management professionals continues to grow, especially in light of recent health care policies and reforms. The Executive M.H.A. program provides students with a strong foundation to understand the complex and evolving field of health care management.

SLU’s nationally recognized health care management curriculum is based on an array of competency-based knowledge and skills in health care finance, management, policy, strategy, information systems and operations management. The M.H.A. program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Management Education.

Designed for the self-motivated professional, the 60-credit hour Executive M.H.A. program blends distance-based learning technologies with one full-day Saturday in-class session per

month. This format allows students to access web-based lectures and online course work from any location, minimizing time away from work and family. Instructors employ a variety of instructional methods, including case studies, lectures, simulations and applied projects.During on-campus sessions once a month, students interact with faculty, industry experts, health care leaders and a cohort of knowledgeable classmates. The year-round curricular plan allows full-time working students to complete their M.H.A. degrees within two years and part-time students to finish within four years.

All courses are taught by SLU faculty with extensive experience in the health care field and health services research. Students’ newly developed managerial skills can be taken back immediately into the workplace to benefit employers and organizations.
