A warm welcome is extended to all who come to St. Mary’s-Stony Hill to join together in this community of worship and praise to Almighty God. We are grateful to our faithful parishioners and welcome our neighbors and guests who visit us occasionally. We want you to know that you are always welcome! All parishioners should be registered with the parish office. Please notify the parish office if you change your address or move out of the parish. Certificates of eligibility to sponsor at Baptism or Confirmation will be given only to registered parishioners who are active and practicing Catholics.
Parish Directory:
We offer religious education for children of registered parishioners who attend public school grades Pre-K thru 8. Preparation for the Sacraments of First Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation is also provided for students who attend Catholic schools. The Confirmation Program is a two-year preparation program. Students may not enroll into 8th grade, unless they complete our 7th grade program or attend a Catholic school. Pastoral Care of the Sick and Homebound
We are grateful to know if there is someone who should be on our prayer list, or who would benefit
from a visit from a Eucharistic Minister or anointing by a priest. Please ask the individual, or immediate family member, to contact the parish office. In an emergency, phone the parish office and follow the prompt. Please use this option only for a genuine
emergency requiring a priest.
Sacrament of Baptism
Celebrations are held after our Sunday Mass. Contact the parish office for scheduling.
Sacrament of Matrimony
Contact the parish office for an appointment at least one year in advance of the planned wedding date.

Blessing of Animals
Sunday, October 4th • 12:30 pm
To celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, we will host a blessing of the animals on the church lawn on Sunday, October 4th at 12:30 pm. Msgr. Benwell will bless pets and their owners at the St. Fran-cis statue, which is on the right as you get to the top of the church drive-way. All pets must be leashed or in a carrier, please. So that everyone remains safe, we ask everyone to observe social distancing guidelines. Please join us!

our parish. Your financial support, especially at
this time, is so greatly appreciated.
While we are limited in celebrating Mass together pub-licly, we will not publish a weekly collection in the bulle-tin. Instead, we will publish the amount collected at the end of the month which will include both WeShare (online donations) and donations dropped off/mailed to the parish office.

Your Sacrificial Offering
Msgr. Benwell is celebrating
Mass daily:
Monday through Friday at 8 am
Saturday at 4 pm and
Sunday at 7:30 & 11:15 am
We are required to limit attendance at each Mass. The current governor’s order limits Mass attendance
to 150 people.
Your safety is always our top priority. We will continue to monitor the directives from
the State of New Jersey and our Diocese and make adjustments as needed. We apologize for any
inconvenience you experience.

The dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation continues in effect. If you are not comfortable attending Mass publicly at this time, you should stay at home. If you are feeling sick, you must
stay at home.
We will continue to livestream our Masses on the parish Facebook page and post the
recording on our parish website
In addition, Holy Communion will continue to be available for distribution outside the church after the weekend Masses. Parishioners may arrive to the church parking lot immediately
following Mass (at 4:40 to 4:50 pm on Saturday and 8:00-8:10 and 11:45-11:55 am on Sunday)
to receive Communion in their car.
We are happy to welcome you back to church in whatever way is appropriate for you and

Bereavement Group
“Journey through Grief” our parish bereavement support group will begin on Thursday, October 8th. The group will meet via “Zoom” from 7—8 pm. The group will meet on 6 consecutive Thursday evenings. If you are interested in joining, please contact Cheryl Gatti at
908-285-0330 for the log-in credentials. In addition, Cheryl has many resources available which she will be happy to share with you. Please reach out directly to her for more information.
Food Collection (in the parking lot)
Wednesday, October 14th • 10 - 10:30 am Bagged non-perishable groceries for the Food Bank Network of Somerset County and frozen meals* for SHIP may be brought to the church parking lot and loaded directly into designated vehicles. To ensure everyone’s safety, we ask that you please wear a face mask and maintain appropriate social distancing while here. Thank you!
*Please label frozen meals with contents and the date frozen.
Silver and Gold Wedding Celebration
You are cordially invited to celebrate your 25th or 50th Wedding Anniversary by receiving a congratulatory message from Bishop James F. Checchio. Life Chain Join us on Sunday, Oct. 4 - Respect Life Sunday - for Life Chain from 2 – 3:30 p.m. (rain or shine). This is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for 90 minutes praying for our nation and for an end to abortion. Choices Matter – A Virtual Critical Life
Issues Conference Series
During October, which is Respect Life month, the diocesan Office of Human Life and Dignity will present its annual Choices Matter - A Virtual Critical Life Issues Conference Series. The theme this year is “Living the Gospel of Life!”. Champions for Catholic Charities Virtual Gala
Thursday, October 22 ~ 7:00 p.m. In place of the traditional dinner, our 2020 Champions for Catholic Charities will be celebrated through a Virtual Gala—a pre-recorded video scheduled to premiere on Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00 p.m. There is no fee to join the celebration and viewers will have the opportunity to submit supportive messages via live-chat during the event which will feature testi-monials from a few of the people whose lives have been transformed by Catholic Charities. We rely upon the generosity of our faithful supporters so that we can together fulfill the mission of Catholic Charities.
