St. Mary’s is a Traditional Latin Mass Parish in the Diocese of Providence served by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter. In August, 2018, His Excellency Reverend Thomas J. Tobin,
Bishop of Providence, established it to provide a parochial life for all those who wish to worship in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite. All Masses and Sacraments are
offered in accordance with the liturgical books of 1962, as expressed in the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum of Pope Benedict XVI.

Mass Intentions The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered each day for a
particular intention. Please use the request forms and envelopes to submit your intentions to Fr. Berg or the Parish Office. They are available at the entrances to the Church and in the Office. The suggested offering for a Mass is $25 for
Sunday Masses and $10 for all others. The suggested offering for a weekly Sanctuary Lamp
intention is $20.
Coffee An’ will follow the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Mass in the school cafeteria.

Advent Wreath of Charity As we prepare for the Nativity of Our Lord, a few charities in-need have contacted us about gifts such as new winter
coats for children, men's socks and other essentials. We are also looking for donations for the trees and flowers which
will adorn the Altar and creche here at St. Mary's throughout the Christmas season.
An Advent Wreath can be found near the side entrance to the church. If you would like to fulfill one of these
donations please take the tag and return with the item or donation before Christmas.
Pray the Rosary The Rosary will be prayed before the Saturday Mass and
before the 8 a.m. Mass on Sunday. The Rosary Prayer Group will meet on Tuesdays at
5:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Emmanuel House Christmas Drive St. Mary's will collect clothing items to benefit the Emmanuel House Shelter in Providence through
Christmas. One of the greatest areas of need for the shelter is new men's t-shirts, undergarments and socks in a variety of sizes. Please leave donations in their original packaging.
These can be placed in the marked bins near the Gospel-side entrance to the Church.
Parish Christmas Party St. Mary’s will hold a Parish Christmas party with carols, cookies, and displays of talent at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday,
December 27 in the school cafeteria after a 6:30 p.m. polyphonic Sung Mass. If you would like to contribute
foodstuffs or help with setup/cleanup, please contact Mrs. Aldredge at [email protected] or at 860-481-
3377 or contact the rectory. Mrs. Aldredge is also helping to set up a new online platform for us to use to coordinate
parish activities. If any family would like to perform a Christmas piece, vocal or instrumental, please contact Fr.
Berg.
Liturgical Book Sale St. Mary’s is selling daily hand Missals for $50.
Usher Request St. Mary’s is looking for an usher to man the back door of the church before the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass. Duties would
include welcoming the faithful and distributing materials. If interested, please contact Mr. Forte, Mr. Rock, or Fr. Berg.
The Sacraments—Baptism St. Mary’s will present a three-week course on the
Sacrament of Baptism. The first class will be held on Wednesday, January 9, and repeated on January 11. The
classes on Wednesday will begin after the 7 a.m. Mass and Tierce and on Friday, after the 6:30 p.m. Mass.
Epiphany Blessings On Saturday, January 5, at 8:00 a.m., St. Mary’s will bless
Epiphany Water. Anyone who likes may br ing large containers of water. Because of the blessing, the Rosary
will be prayed at 7:45 a.m. On Sunday, January 6, St. Mary’s will bless gold,
frankincense, and myrrh after each Mass. Please present any gold, frankincense, and/or myrrh you would
like blessed at the Altar Rail following Mass.
Epiphany House Blessings St. Mary’s will bless houses using the special Epiphany
House Blessing from January 6 to January 12 inclusive. If you would like your house blessed, please contact the
Parish Office by January 3, 2019. Houses will be grouped regionally, and each region will be assigned a day. You
will be notified in advance regarding your date/time.
National March for Life The Diocese of Providence has organized buses to travel to
the National March for Life departing at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, and arriving back in Providence at
2:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19. The March itself is on Friday, January 18.
William Botsolis is organizing the group which will be attending from St. Mary’s. The group will attend Mass the day of the March at Old St. Mary’s in D.C. and then join
the group from the FSSP parish in Allentown. Please contact William Botsolis
at [email protected] or speak with him directly after Mass.
The cost for travel is $88. The deadline to register is January 11, 2019.
January 1, 2019—Holy Day of Obligation Tuesday, January 1, 2019, the Feast of the Circumcision of Our Lord, is a Holy Day of Obligation. A Low Mass will
be offered at 8:00 a.m. and a Sung Mass at 10:00 a.m.
Indulgences for the New Year A plenary indulgence can be gained by those who recite the
Te Deum on the last day of the calendar year, under the normal conditions. A plenary indulgence can also be gained by those who recite the Veni Creator on the first day of the calendar year, under the normal conditions. St. Mary’s will
recite the indulgenced prayers on each of these days.
