BISHOP DAVID J. WALKOWIAK ASKS US TO PRAY FOR OUR SEMINARIANS
Loving God, Raise up dedicated leaders who will shepherd your people and guide them to your Son. Give generous and willing hearts to the seminarians of our Diocese who have heard your call to live a life of ser-vice to the Church. Help us to encourage and support them as they strive to become priests who are models of discipleship, possessors of wisdom and on fire with love for your people. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
We especially pray for: Cody Armock

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered on Sundays at the 9:00 Mass. CLW is for children ages 3-7 years. Each week we pray, read and explore the Sunday Gospel from a child’s view-point. We include the Gospel Acclamation so that children understand the importance of preparing our mind and heart for the Gospel reading. The liturgical color for Easter is white, which signifiers joy, exuberance, celebration, resurrection, victory, purity and innocence. We are in the greatest season of celebration in the liturgical year. It is so important that it lasts 7 weeks. Elementary Faith Formation: Thank you Catechists and helpers, for sharing your time and talents with our students. Classes will resume in the fall. First Communion Mass Practice: For First Communicants and parents on Wednesday, May 3rd, from 6:00-7:30pm. Contact Debbie Veneklase with any questions 616-384-4026. Pre-School thru 2nd grade Children’s Liturgy / 11AM Mass 1st-7th Grade / Wednesdays at Parish Hall / 6:15- 7:30pm 8th grade / Wednesdays beginning Nov 9. / 6:45-8:30pm
Today in Children’s Liturgy of the Word we asked the question: What does it mean to see with the eyes of faith? In today’s Gospel, the disciples of Jesus having gone to the tomb and seeing it empty are now gathered together in an upper room. Even though the door was locked, Jesus appeared to them and spoke to them. Thomas was not with the other disci-ples when Jesus appeared to them. When Thomas was told by the other disciples that Jesus had appeared to them, he did not believe them. Jesus came back and appeared to the disci-ples a second time. This time Thomas was with them. Now Thomas could really see Jesus with his eyes and hear Him with his ears, just as the other disciples had. But Jesus let Thomas do something more. Jesus knew that Thomas doubt-ed, so He invited him to touch His wounds. Jesus said, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.” John 20:27 Thomas no longer doubted. He now knew it was Jesus. Thomas called Jesus, “My Lord and my God!” Thomas now believed and had faith. Thomas and the disciples were given a very special favor by God because they were able to see, hear, and touch the Risen Lord. But Jesus said that those of us who haven’t seen or heard or touched Him are really blessed. Why? It is because we don’t see Jesus with our eyes. Instead we see Jesus with the eyes of faith. This Wednesday, April 26 will be the last night of Religious Education classes for this Spring. Please join us for Mass at 6:30 p.m. Followed by a treat! Next Sunday, April 30 will be the last Children’s Liturgy of the Word for this Spring. Children’s Liturgy of the Word will resume in the Fall.
