SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
Saturday 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. The Sacrament is also available by request. The Lenten Penance Service will be held on Sunday, March 25, at 4:00 p.m.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
Following Diocesan guidelines, Catholic parties should contact the Parish before any plans are made. At least six months are needed before the wedding to allow time for evaluation and sacramental preparation.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Preparation classes are held bi-monthly. Call the Parish Office for the schedule. Parents must be registered and active members of St. Patrick Parish.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK Anointing and Holy Communion are available
to hospitalized and home-bound upon request. Families are asked to notify the Parish Office to arrange for hospital and home visits.

PALM SUNDAY PASSION OF THE LORD
The Good Friday Collection will be taken during the service on Friday, March 30, at 12:30 p.m. This collection will benefit the St. Patrick Food Pantry. Thank you for your generosity!

The following regulations are promulgated and binding for all Latin Rite Catholics in the Diocese of Erie for Lent and the Paschal Triduum, 2018. ♦ Traditional Lenten practices of prayer,
fasting, & almsgiving and other forms of self-denial are recommended.
♦ All Fridays in Lent, and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat for those 14 years of age and older.
♦ Good Friday is also a day of fasting for those ages 18 to 58. (One full meal and two smaller meals)

SPS 101 Information Night - St. Patrick School will hold a special information night on Monday, March 26, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. School parents will be available in Cenedella Hall to answer any questions about curriculum, multiage classrooms, affordability, parent involvement, athletics, and other topics. Teachers will be available in their classrooms. Child care will be provided. No reservations are necessary.
Night at the Races! Saturday, April 21, at the Franklin Knights of Columbus, 1436 Liberty Street. Doors open at 6:00
p.m., and racing begins at 7:00 p.m. Cost is $7.00 per person and includes one free drink. There will be a hot buffet which includes, wings, sliders, and pulled pork! To purchase a horse, call the school office, 432-8689, by Wednesday, April 11. Horses are 1 for $10 or 3 for $25. Join us for an evening of horses, food, and fun!
SPS Mission Fair will be held on Friday, April 13. There will be games, a store, lunch, and dinner. Plan to spend the day with us!
Save the date - SPS is sponsoring a Trinity Race Series as part of the Parish Festival! Join us on Saturday, June 2, at the Samuel Justus Trail for a 10K, 5K, or 1-mile untimed, fun walk. Kids can enjoy a “free Kids’ Dash” before the racing begins. Watch for more details about the race and sponsorship opportunities in the bulletin. Family Perspective - The Passion of Jesus makes it clear, no one escapes suffering. Suffering is inevitable, but no one should suffer alone. That is one of the primary roles of families, to stand with and support each other in suffering.
Children’s Worship Bulletins, based on Sunday’s gospel reading, are available in the vestibule of the church.
There are two different bulletins to choose from based on ages, 3-6 and 7-12. These bulletins are made available to you by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
Good Friday Cross Walk, Downtown Franklin on Friday, March 30. The Cross Walk will begin at 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick Church, on the corner of Tenth and Liberty Streets, proceed through town, then end at Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo Street.
Congratulations to the following St. Patrick Parish students who celebrated their Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday, March 16, at St. Patrick Church: Garret Crivelli, Joseph Danvers, Jonathan Fiscus, Devon O’Brien, Evan Shull, and Tate Zacherl. Also to Connor Rakow who will be making celebrating his Confirmation in April.
2018 First Reconciliation - Congratulations to the following St. Patrick, 2nd Grade children who made their First Reconciliation on Saturday, March 24: Sophie Boal, Hudson Greenlee, Conor Johnson, Stella Ruscak, and Mattie Wick. Next year will be their First Communion!
American Red Cross Blood Drive sponsored by the Knight of Columbus and Catholic Daughters, will be held on Good Friday, March 30, from Noon until 5:00 p.m., at the K. of C. Hall, 1537 Liberty Street. C.D. of A. will also be selling nut rolls, poppy seed rolls, and apricot rolls just in time for Easter.
Getting married? Contact the church at least six months in advance to arrange to meet with Msgr. Herbein or one of the Deacons. As a couple, you must meet with a priest or deacon in order to be given a wedding date.

The Annunciation of the Lord (Feast day, March 25) “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him . . . might have eternal life.” (John 3:16) At the Annunciation, God revealed this good news to Mary. She was the first to hear and to believe that God would do what he promised. Her faith told her that nothing is impossible for God. Mary also heard God’s invitation calling her to be the Virgin Mother of his Son. This call meant that Jesus would be formed in her womb, and she, as his mother, would nourish and care for him. This call meant that she had a special place in God’s plan for salvation. Mary replied, “I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38) In saying yes, Mary agreed to God’s plan because she wanted what God wanted. She was willing to accept all the joy and pain, all the unexpected events. She was willing to bring Christ to a waiting world.
4th Annual Catholic Women’s Conference - The name, “1:38 Women,” is based on the theme of Luke 1:38, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” This year, the theme of the conference is “Intimacy with God and Love for One Another,” relating to 1 John 4:12-13. The conference will be held on Saturday, April 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Peace Parish, in Erie. Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. Registration is only $40 per person, $35 for senior citizens or groups of eight, $25 for college students, $10 for high school students, and free for religious sisters. Lunch and free parking are included. Enjoy fellowship and inspiring national speakers, Sister Jane Dominic Laurel, a Dominican Sister from Nashville, Tennessee; Katie Hartfiel from Houston, Texas; and Patty Schneier from St. Louis, Missouri. There will also be adoration and the opportunity for reconciliation. The event will conclude with Mass offered by Bishop Lawrence Persico. Attention Crafters/Vendors/Garden Centers - Our 3rd Annual Craft, Vendor, and Garden Show will be held Saturday, April 29, at St. Mary Social Hall, in Crown. If you or a loved one is admitted to the hospital or nursing home, please be sure you/they are listed as “Catholic” so that any priests/deacons visiting will know to see them. If you are admitted through the Emergency Room, you may not be included on this list. Your family should let them know at the front desk. Thank you!
Our Lady of Fatima Statue has been visiting homes in our parish. Homes that have hosted her have expressed awe, calmness, and peace. If you would like to host Our Lady, please call Maloy Shrout at 673-9777.
The next Baptismal Class in our area will be held at St. Titus Church, in Titusville, on Sunday, May 20, at 12:30 p.m. We ask all first time parents to attend. You do not have to wait until your child is born to attend. To register, please call St. Titus Parish Office at 814-827-4636.
