4 | Welcome to Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church

To add a name to our prayer list, please call our

Parish Office and give their name.

These names are printed in our bulletin for four

weeks. We ask that our faith community keep these

persons and families in their prayers.

solamente". -Instrucción General del Misal Romano (IGMR)

A note from John Payne, Director of Music

You will notice we may use only the Entrance Chant

(Introit) for the Procession to begin the Mass. Singing both

a general hymn along with this designated Mass Proper is

really doubling up; a hymn is not required. “When the peo-

ple are gathered, and as the Priest enters with the Deacon

and ministers, the Entrance Chant begins. Its purpose is to

open the celebration, foster the unity of those who have

been gathered, introduce their thoughts to the mystery of the

liturgical time or festivity, and accompany the procession of

the Priest and ministers. This chant is sung alternately by

the choir and the people or similarly by a cantor and the

people, or entirely by the people, or by the choir alone.” -The

General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM)

There will be a second collection for the Campaign of

Human Development this weekend. Please be

generous.

The Parish Offices will be closed at 12:00 Noon on

Wednesday, November 24th for Thanksgiving and will

reopen at 8:00am on Monday, November 29th.

The Carmelite Monastery will be selling homemade

candy and jams after all the Masses on December 4th

and 5th. These make great Christmas gifts and help

support the Carmelites.

SYNOD - # Listening Church

The fundamental question that guides this consultation of

the People of God is the following: A synodal Church, in

announcing the Gospel, “journeys together:”

How is this “journeying together” happening today in

your particular Church? What steps does the Spirit invite us

to take in order to grow in our “journeying together”?

In order to respond, you are invited to:

A. Ask yourselves what experiences in your particular

Church the fundamental question calls to mind;

B. Reread these experiences in greater depth: What joys

did they provoke? What difficulties and obstacles have

they encountered? What wounds have they brought to

light? What insights have they elicited?

C. Gather the fruits to share: Where, in these experiences,

does the voice of the Spirit resound? What is he asking

of us? What are the points to be confirmed, the

prospects for change, the steps to be taken? Where do

we register a consensus? What paths are opening up for

our particular Church?

les recuerda la pregunta fundamental;

consenso? ¿Qué caminos se abren para nuestra Iglesia

en particular?

We remember our fellow parishioners who died in the past year
