BW: 78 lbs.; AWW: 741 lbs.; AYW: 1,239 lbs. This full two-year-old bull will impress all that come to Columbia. He ties together the proven calving-ease genetics and muscle pattern of LT Bluegrass with the showring heritage of his dam. She is a full sister to the past National Champion Female LV Clearwater L20! In December this

outstanding herd sire weighed 1,800 lbs. and was measured at a frame score of 6.2! A thick-topped, deep-sided bull with lots of heavy muscle. Blue Sky sells with 40 units of semen, has two excellent fall calves on the ground and several more due this coming year. The Cooks will retain a few units of semen to use again. Selling one-half interest and full possession.

BW: 65 lbs.; AWW: 752 lbs.; AYW: 1,300 lbs. This almost two-year-old bull will also have many friends on sale day! He stood second in class at the Junior National this past summer in Sioux Falls, S.D., to the Reserve Grand Champion Bull that day. John Gibson tells me that David Hobbs described Romeo as one of the best Bluegrass sons

he has ever seen! He is thick, deep-sided and gentle as a pup. His maternal granddam has been a long-time donor for the Gibsons, producing several sons for purebred herds. At 13 years of age she still has a perfect udder. MEG Romeo 907 has great numbers, eye-appeal, pedigree and disposition. A can’t-miss herd sire.

BW: 68 lbs.; AWW: 773 lbs., Ratio: 102Look at the power and substance of this young, fall coming two-year-old. What a package when you combine that power and substance with the proven calving ease and performance of his pedigree. Great ones abound in his pedigree — LT Assertion, Tradition 066, Grid Maker, Wyoming Wind

and the former Missouri-bred National Champion Female Big Creek Angel P 131. Now, take time to check out the extremely low birth weight and tremendous movement toward a breed-leading weaning weight. This herd sire needs your at-tention if you are looking for calving-ease, weaning weight performance, milking daughters and quality sons to sell.

BW: 89 lbs.; AWW: 671 lbs. This herd sire will make more than one person stop and take a good, long, hard look. You will really appreciate his thickness, length and power. He is sired by Bob’s senior herd sire, HCR Wind 3148, a bull that combines the best of Wyoming Wind with Rancher. This stout bull is a full

brother to Barnard’s 2009 consignment, a heifer that sold to Rebecca Mallet, and to Barnard’s 2007 three-quarter sister that sold to Matthew Owings, both of which went on to be successful show heifers. The maternal granddam was the high-selling cow in the now famous Batey Dispersal. Pictures of the Barnard consignments will be

online at www.5JCharolais.com a week or two in front of the sale.

She may be our only bred heifer, but this beautiful female is a great one. You can drive lots of miles before fi nding one this good. Bob Barnard has been noted for many years for the excellent show heifer prospects that he has put into the hands of many successful juniors, but this bred heifer shows what a maternal base is at Barnard Charolais. Her sire was the high-selling yearling bull at the Creekside Charolais Ranch in Colorado in 2007, and he is putting the right kind out there. Her dam is an excellent pedigreed Morrison Charolais female that has been good for Bob, having produced a MCBA top-selling bull for Meng Ranch in Kansas. Bred to the calving-ease Unlimited Ease can only enhance this package.

BW: 75 lbs.Wow!! Talk about one with that killer show look, that is cool fronted and soft middled. This heifer will go on to be a great cow. She comes straight out of the Ridder Farms show string, and they always want to bring great ones to this sale. She will not disappoint. The Stroker Ace females all come with that look and have the genetic background to make excellent cows after their show careers. Her dam is an Eaton TrueValue daughter that they selected for her phenotype, coupled with the carcass genetics that come with the Eaton cattle. Derek says that this is one of those heifers that he’d rather be showing than showing against.

Bob always brings good show heifer prospects to the MCBA State Sale that go on after their show careers and make outstanding brood cows. This heifer will also fi t into that category. This is a deep-bodied, big-volume heifer that will show and make a cow. BW: 83 lbs.A purple halo surrounds this heifer’s showring potential. She is sired by Perfect Wind, the sire of this year’s very popular National Champion Cow/Calf Pair. Her dam needs no introduction as all of the Megan show heifers the last three years are out of this productive donor, starting with the American Royal winner in 2006, through the National Show in 2009. Along the way, Teanna Simpson picked up grand champion honors at the Junior National Show in Wichita Falls. Next year’s Megans

This extremely stylish and fl ashy smoke heifer will have a long show career ahead of her. Last spring, her maternal sister sold for $2,500 and went on to do well in Iowa shows. A paternal sister

sold this past fall for $4,000. The sire of this heifer is an extremely fancy, low birth weight Angus bull that we use on all of our yearling heifers with great success. This heifer’s dam was the 2007 Missouri Overall High Point Show Female of the Year and a top Ten AICA Show Heifer of the Year. You just can’t fi nd this kind of quality and pedigree in a percentage heifer everyday!

LT Easy Blend is, of course, one of the breed’s most popular sires, and Byergo Hanna is a daughter of ASC Eliminator 032 out of an Intimidator daughter. She has outstanding EPDs — BW: -1.5; WW: 37; YW: 63; Mik: 17; TM: 36. Average WW Ratio: 111 on eight natural calves.

Cigar and Budsmydad are two more of the breed’s most popular sires. FSU Miss Nicholas 256 is a daughter of Mac 2244, out of a BR Duke 261 daughter. She was the dam of many very suc-cessful show heifers for Dustin Bush, Drew Nichols, Megan Fink and Kassi Bauman. She was an essential part in the development of the Dave Nichols and Fink Beef Genetic herds in Kansas.

All embryos are stored at Trans-Ova in Chillicothe, Mo.

The Missouri Junior Charolais Association wishes to extend thanks to Joe Byergo, Dearborn, Mo., for his generous donation to the 2011 Junior National to be held June 26 to July 2 in Kansas City.
