Each saint of God should be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ. In 2017 we expect each member to

aspire to a higher level of worship, relationship, discipleship and stewardship.

Ephes. 4:11-16 (NKJV)

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and

teachers, [12] for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body

of Christ, [13] till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to

a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; [14] that we should no longer

be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of

men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, [15] but, speaking the truth in love, may grow

up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- [16] from whom the whole body, joined and

knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part

does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

In this new year, each of us should renew our commitment to the Lord Jesus, to one another as brothers

and sisters in Christ, and to seeing lost souls served and saved.

PARENTS OF YOUNG CHILDREN: Nursery B is available to parents of infants and small children for feeding, changing diapers, or meeting other specific needs. A television that shows the church service has been added to the room to make it more convenient for you as a parent. The room is also equipped with chairs and a changing table. Parents please remember to cleanup after your children when using the nursery.

Early Morning Prayer: Join us Wednesday morning from 7:00 A.M. - 8:00 A.M. for early

morning prayer at Salem Baptist Church in the sanctuary.

Ministry Spotlight on the Salem History Walk: Each month a current or past Ministry

will be highlighted to tell their unique story. For June, the Capital Stewardship Campaign

will be the spotlight. Ministries that are interested in being featured in upcoming months

should see a Futures Committee Representative.

95th Church Anniversary Banks: In 1922, a few faithful saints stood with God to begin

the journey of the Salem Baptist Church. With a penny and a prayer, these members

allowed God to use them in a mighty way. We are grateful to God and to all who came

before us for their obedience to His word. In recognition, please: SAVE your spare change

in the special 95th Church Anniversary bank, GIVE this change as we finish the Capital

Stewardship Campaign (every Sunday from April 23rd Church Anniversary to June 11th

Youth Sunday), PRAY continuously as we Charge On as a Church. We are Committed to

the Sacrifice…we are Committed to Finish Strong…we are Committed to Charging On!

Coin Donation Receipts: There will be generic donation receipts available to Salem

members, who contribute their loose change to the Committed to the Sacrifice Campaign.

Please see the table near the coin collection receptacle. If you would like to have your

coins counted and credited to your Capital Campaign commitment, please stop in the

bookstore and complete a deposit request.

Golden Adventurers: Golden Adventurers will have their Annual Prom on Saturday,

June 24, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at OMAR, 4383 Nicholas Street. Please stop by

the Golden Adventurers table after 8:30 & 11:30 services starting today to get your ticket.

Guest tickets will cost $20.00.

Calling all Women of Salem: It's that time of year for fellowship and worship through

song. Please join the Women of Favor as we prepare to minister on Father’s Day.

Rehearsals will be June 5th & 12th at 7:00 P.M. & June 7th & 14th @ 7:30 P.M. All rehearsals

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL(VBS): VBS will be held July 10, 2017 to July 14, 2017

from 5:00 P.M. - 8:30 P.M. We are asking for volunteers to help our students as they

experience our theme, “The Faith Run-On Course With God!”. Volunteers are needed in

the following areas: Curriculum Teachers and Assistant Teachers, Craft Teachers,

Registration, Dinner Servers and Administrative Assistants. Sign up to volunteer each

Sunday, after the worship services, in the foyer. You may also volunteer by contacting

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL(VBS): VBS will be held July 10, 2017 to July 14, 2017

from 5:00 P.M. - 8:30 P.M. Our theme is “Faith Run-On Course with God!” Get your

willing spirit and running shoes ready for the run of your life. God has a planned course

for each of us and wants us to finish that race. Our Faith Run, with God, is not a sprint but

a life marathon that begins with a single “yes”. So, say “yes” to registering and attending.

We will have classes for all ages. Registration will be held in the foyer after the worship

services. We are looking forward to a blessed week full of learning God’s Word and

fellowship.

Save the date: Salem Women’s Conference 2017 is on August 19, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. -

2:00 P.M. Our theme this year is, "A Generation of Queens: Crowned With Beauty," from

Isaiah 62:3.

BBQ Fellowship: The Salem Bridgebuilders and Military In/Outreach Ministries will host a

joint BBQ Fellowship for all new members (2015-present) and military affiliated families in

Salem on June 17 from noon – 3:30 P.M. (Hebrews 10:25). All Ministry Leaders are

encouraged to send a maximum of 3 members from their ministry. Members and guests are

invited to visit the Bridgebuilders & Military Tables in the foyer for details.

Dr. Tommy A. Watson Presents: Secrets for Parents to Motivate their Children: Dr.

Watson is one of Americas leading experts on turning transition into success for children.

Sessions for parents designed to assist them in motivating their children to exceed beyond

their wildest imagination. Food and refreshments will be served. Make sure to sign up at the

table after worship. Workshops will be held in the J.C. Wade Fellowship Hall on June 10,

June 24 and July 8, 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

Graduation Recognition Information: Graduates should arrive on Sunday, June 11, 2017

by 10:30 a.m. Report to Computer Room. Dress for group photo with Pastor Bachus. Be

ready to march in to church as a group during the second service at 11:30. You can wear

your cap and gown if you choose to do so.
