The Wind Rises is the final masterpiece from Japanese animation legend Hayao Miyazaki.

Boyhood:

Boyhood was filmed over 12 years with the same cast.

Ilo Ilo:

Ilo Ilo won a Camera d’Or Best Feature Film Award at Cannes Film Festival.

The King and the Mocking Bird:

The King and the Mocking Bird has been cited by Studio Ghibli’s Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata as a profound influence on their work.

About the tutor:Matthew Dean studied Film and Animation at the Arts Institute in Bournemouth and has been teaching animation at Salisbury Arts Centre for nearly 9 years. He has had plenty of experience entertaining young people and creating quality films and animations.

Learning for Real: Film Screening & Discussion EveningTuesday 4 November7.30pm • £7.50 Award-winning filmmaker Robert Stern presents three documentaries from Norway, Hungary and Somerset showcasing the benefits of giving children real responsibility. See 5-year-olds lighting campfires, 10-year-olds operating railway signals or 14-year-olds protecting orchids from extinction, and join in an informal discussion between films.

Community Films: ‘An Old Sarum Odyssey’ & ‘Bemerton Heath Artificial Things’Wednesday 10 DecemberFREE but ticket required A double-bill showcase of two recent films made by local young people, facilitated by Salisbury Arts Centre’s engagement team. Our address is Salisbury Arts Centre, Bedwin Street, SP1 3UT.

Parking is free after 6pm in the nearby College Street and Salt Lane car parks. We have two Disabled Parking spaces at the rear of the Arts Centre, accessed via Bedwin Street.

Buses go from New Canal Street and Endless Street nearby and the train station is just a 15 minute walk away.

Public areas are accessible by ramps or lift. A disabled toilet is situated on the ground floor with full baby changing facilities.

Wheelchair spaces and front row seats may be reserved (subject to availability) by those with limited mobility who are unable to climb any steps. All other seating is unreserved.

Infrared or Induction Loop systems are available.
