SALUTING OUR INCREDIBLE MORNING MINYAN

What better way to start the day than with thisspecial group of people?

May we be together, whether in personor on Zoom,

for many Mondays and Thursdays to come.

Sandra Kass

Life is a journey. Blair and I and the kids (and Wrigley) are so happy to be on the journey together with the community at Adat Shalom. Amidst all of the unpredictability of last year, we could always rely on Adat Shalom for services and programming and friendship and love. While there are many aspects of the synagogue that deserve celebrating, the minyan and the religious school each hold very special places in my heart. I am so happy to help show my appreciation for each group this evening.

We look forward to seeing all of you as life returns closer to normalcy. And, we look forward to celebrating with you at the gala. Enjoy the evening!

B'Shalom,

Rabbi Nolan and Blair Lebovitz

Shelby, Simon, & Maddy (and Wrigley)

This past year has been a challenging one for all of us on many levels. And I am proud and humbled by the way we all handled it as a family and as a team. Now that we are beginning to reemerge into a changed world I hope that we can take the lessons we learned and keep them as guiding lights for the future.

I feel blessed to be a member of Adat Shalom and the spiritual and community support that it provides to me and so many others. And I am grateful that I can share my blessings by participating as a volunteer to continue to grow and enhance our congregation.

Thank you Rabbi Lebovitz for your consistent kindness, spirituality and leadership. Thank you to our excellent professional staff for their skills and commitment. And to the Board of Directors, thank you for your support, advice, ideas, and passion. I deeply appreciate you. Thank you to all of our volunteers who are the foundation of our community and give so much to each other and the synagogue.

Teachers open our eyes to the world. They give us curiosity and confidence.

They teach us to ask questions. They connect us to our past and future.

They’re the guardians of our social heritage. ..... The influence of good teachers stays with us.

Page 33: SALUTING OUR INCREDIBLE

Joanna, Cesar, and Leslie,

Fifteen months; 24/7; 426 days; 10,224 hours or 613,440 minutes… anyway you count it, that’s the time we’ve spent navigating, inventing, questioning, wondering, solving, worrying, creating, laughing -- and now, as we turn the corner of this pandemic -- hopeful.

Even with the many challenges we faced, there were also a few bright spots; like getting to know Sophia as she sat in the office doing Zoom school, like our weekly Zoom status meetings where we could actually see each other, and, the joyous feeling as one by one we all became fully vaccinated.

As I look forward to the coming year, I know the bright spot of working together will continue to glow even stronger.

Kol Hakavod, Renalee Pflug

Page 34: SALUTING OUR INCREDIBLE

Dear Rabbi and Janet,

This past year has been like no other…there’s no other way to describe it. We survived and thrived, we lost and cried, we smiled and laughed, as we faced the unknown. For months and months, each day brought a new unexpected hurdle, and yet we kept going.

Rabbi, your sense of humor and coffee drinking never wavered. Your creative mind, film-making background, and love of this community fused together to bring new program ideas at every turn. While some places were trying to figure out Zoom, you brought us Tours of Israel. And while others sang the woes of membership losses, you gave us comedy –complete with a dream sequence and Cantor Dale – our membership grew. I’ve yet to see a challenge you couldn’t meet and beat.

Janet, your laser focus on the welfare of our community is steadfast. That focus has resulted in an expansion of Hesed, a fostering of community outreach for social justice, and a strengthening of the Adat Shalom foundation so our community can look forward to the future with confidence.

I believe this year has made us each stronger. I know it has made us stronger together.I’m excited as we continue to build Adat Shalom for the future. Yashar Koach.

My wife and I wish to express our sincere appreciation for being part of the Adat Shalom Family. I have been associated with the Minyan’s group for many years and happily experienced the arrival of Rabbi Lebovitz and his participation and leadership that encouraged many to participate and never to have a problem with the minyan as before.

I also thank Rabbi Lebovitz for inviting me to read the Torah on Shabbat and Holidays. He has been an inspiration and motivation to belong and learn from his sermons.

Thank you,Ben and Ofra Bonavida
