Operation “Rolling Thunder” was a bombing strategy to take out as many people as possible with a kill rate of 10:1

Teach ins were used to get people involved by informing the student body.

U.S. forces sprayed an estimated 20 million gallons of herbicides, including Agent Orange, to deny food and jungle cover to the Vietnamese communists.

Vietnamization

In 1969, the United States bombed Cambodia to get through the Ho Chi minh Trail.

In 1970, there was a shooting that killed 4 students and 8 were wounded in 13 seconds.

Sihanouk allied with China then the US

Showed legacy of deception concerning US policy in Vietnam.

Nixon visits China and the North Vietnamese understood this visit as an effort to break the bond of them and China as their allies.

In 1971, New York Times Published state information about Nixon and the situation in Vietnam.

The Watergate is the headquarters of the democratic party. Nixon put wires in the offices to find out their strategy for election.

Kissinger and Le Duc Tho win Peace Prize however, Le Duc Tho rejected the prize becausehe felt that peace did not exist yet.

The United States left and the south gave up to the north.
