Prologue

It‘s 7th October today, my 30th birthday. Two years

passed very soon; just two years ago all my opinion

about someone changed completely. I remember that

was my 28th birthday, and on that day, the mystery

behind all my questions unveiled. Today, my wife

Sanjana has organized a grand party at our residence—

The Singhania's Mansion. Mumbai witnesses such kind

of parties every day or every week of a month. There is a

misconception that Mumbai is a city for glamorous and

rich folks only, but apart from that, the city acts as a

platform for all those deserving and talented youngsters

who come here with a hope to make it big and to become

successful. Some accomplish their goals, and some of

them lost their identities here in the world of countless

DREAMS.

It is 7:30 p.m. — 8:00 p.m. everything is as same as any

normal day, but for me, today is seriously different,

maybe something inside me is not the same. It is a

strange feeling. I don't want to attend my birthday party,

but still, I dressed like a birthday boy in a black

Sherwani. I just didn't want to go out anywhere. What I

wanted to do is to sit in my room in complete silence and

write down everything whatever is on my mind—yes, I

wanted to complete my book, there were many things

which I hadn't told anyone. Many stories, many incidents

were there in my mind which remained UNTOLD! I

wanted to share my secret stuff with someone, but I

didn't want anyone to interrupt me. So I decided to share

my stories with my diary from where I can take out all

the entries and make a good book out of it. Meanwhile,

as I was writing in my diary, Sanjana called me. ―Arjun,

come on! Everyone is waiting for you downstairs,‖ she

said. I looked behind while standing near my study table;

I saw Sanjana standing at the door of our room waiting

for me to join her to go downstairs where the party was

happening. At first, when I looked at her, I was lost in

my thoughts for a few seconds; I was just wondering

how a woman could look so beautiful with each passing

day. Well, it was my love for her that was increasing

with each passing minute of my life. She was looking

damn beautiful and gorgeous in that lavish red saree and

hair untied. Then suddenly, I came back to my senses

when she held my hand. Maybe, she sensed what I was

thinking and blushed, which made her look extremely

adorable. Then, we both headed toward the hall

downstairs to welcome the guests. Surprisingly, they

were all present. They were already waiting for us. As

soon as we entered the hall, the guests made a huge

round of applause to welcome both of us. It was turning

out to be a great evening for me. At first, I didn't want to

attend my birthday party, but now I started to enjoy it.

The credit goes to Sanjana who tried her best to make

my day even more special. Her efforts were the sole

reason that I had to enjoy as she did a great job. She is

the only reason behind this successful event. ―So I have

to appreciate it and respect her feelings too, and for that,

I have to enjoy,‖ I said to myself. I have no other choice

too—I wondered.

She made me enjoy a lot, she made me sing, she

made me dance a bit and after a while when I started

feeling tired because of so much amusement and fun...

she made me sit on a sofa to the left corner of the hall

and bought a glass of orange juice for me—that orange

juice was very refreshing. Then, she introduced me to

Mr. Rakesh Verma, amongst the most respectable

businessperson in the city because of his values and

clear business ethics. He wanted to invest in my new

project, which is to build a chain of hospitals in the state

of Maharashtra. I needed some investors, and nothing is

more exciting when a reputed businessperson like him is

ready to invest in my project. Moreover, Mr. Verma was

waiting for me, since the past two or three months. But

because of my extremely busy and awful schedule, I

wasn‘t able to meet him. All of this, I got to know from

my manager, Vikram Sinha. Apart from being my

manager, he had been a very good friend of mine since

college times. He had worked with me for the past four

years, and now he is as good as a family member to me.

Everything was working well, and as expected of my

wife, I am very happy after such an amazing celebration

party, and most importantly, I had gotten that last

investor for my project and that too, a man of grand

personality in the city. ―I am very happy,‖ I said to

myself, but it was nothing like that because something in

me was still incomplete, my happiness was

incomplete…. I wanted to complete my diary entries; I

wanted to make a complete book out of my diary entries.

The party concluded at 11:30 p.m. and all the guests left.

Meanwhile, Sanjana asked me to sleep as I was looking

too tired, but I knew that I was completely fine and was

not feeling sleepy at all. ―You sleep, Sanju,‖ I said.

Then, I left her alone. She went to sleep, and I went

downstairs and stepped outside the house to take a stroll.

I walked for some time and then rested a while in the

garden of my mansion. After some time, I saw it was

almost 2:00 a.m. I realized it was seriously too late and I

should sleep now, so I went to my bedroom. Sanjana

was fast asleep. I lay down beside her and tried to sleep.

Within 30 minutes I fell asleep.

The next day, Sanjana woke me up as always. She

hugged me and wished, ―Good Morning!‖ It is always

wonderful to start the day in this way. Today, I took a

leave from my office as I didn't feel like going. Its crazy

when I say I took a leave from my office, I mean it's my

company, my office, so I can do whatever I want. I took

a leave not because I was feeling too tired, but because

of yesterday evening…. It is because I wanted to write

my diary entries, I wanted to share all those stories

which remained untold till now, I wanted to write

everything that was on my mind. So I went to my study

where it was peaceful, and I could write down

everything without any hindrance. I was about to start

writing when my mobile rang. It was Vikram calling. I

attended the call.

―Hello Sir, here is some great news for you, the

construction work at the site is almost complete, and the

inauguration ceremony will be held a day after tomorrow

as a part of our new project,‖ he said. It was indeed some

great news for me now, but I knew I still have a long

way to go. I hung up the call and took my pen and

started thinking about where to start writing. What will

be a good starting point? Hmm! Let‘s begin with the day

when it all started—I got the answer from my inner self.

So, let‘s get started.

Chapter 1

It was like any normal day in Mumbai, but it was raining

heavily, and this is something which always increases

the beauty of this city even more. But today it was

something different; there was nothing pleasant about

the rain. Rather, it was dangerous and a wild image of

Nature. My father (Mr. Ajay Singhania) lifted my

mother (Mrs. Nita Singhania) up in his arms and then

made her sit in the car to take her to the city hospital as

she was expecting a baby. But the traffic of Mumbai

played a negative role in this story, just what a villain

does in a Bollywood thriller movie. With passing

seconds, my mother was losing her patience because her

pain was increasing and becoming intolerable. It is a fact

that if we order a pizza and call an ambulance at the

same time, then it will be the pizza boy who will win the

race and not the ambulance, and that is the reason my

father didn't wait for an ambulance and rushed the

hospital on his own. It was about forty-five minutes later

when my parents reached the hospital, and the staff

along with the doctor-in-charge hosted them. The doctor

instructed the two nurses to take my mom to the

operation theatre. Yes, operation theatre because the

situation had turned worst by then. The doctor had

already told my father that the hemoglobin level in my

mother's body was really low, but that was not a big

problem as they will be able to arrange the necessary

amount of blood from the blood bank. But the main

problem was that there was very less chance of survival

of both my mother and child. In short, they were saying

that there was only a one percent chance that the baby

would come out alive in this world. The doctors were

trying their best to do the operation successfully and just
