Thank you for purchasing our Greenbriar garage kit. The material supplied is listedon the back page. An extra assembly book is included with the component kit; usethe one with the latest revision date. The material will be delivered in two shipments. One shipment will contain thecomponent kit. The balance will be delivered by a local supplier. When you receivetheir material, check the material delivered against the material list on the back page.If you feel you did not receive any material listed, call us as soon as possible. The foundation size should measure 12'-0" wide by 20'-0". Do Not make the foundationlarger than the building size. The siding should project beyond the foundation forwater to expel properly from the sidewalls. Check building code in your area forfoundation requirements.IMPORTANT: Some of the 2x4 framing and roof sheathing needed in the constructionof the building is used to make the shipping pallet. Unpack the material from the palletand disassemble the pallet. The pallet is secured together with square head screws. The bit for the screws is packed in the hardware bag. When building the trusses, our instructions suggest using the floor as a work area. Ifyour foundation is a concrete slab it will not be possible to use this method. Build the12' long back wall to use as a platform. If you encounter any problems while erecting your building, call our customer servicedepartment at 800-245-1577. If you run into a problem you cannot resolve, my homephone is 724-588-9146ET. Call the 800 number first. Before you begin construction,be sure to study this assembly manual. Also, obtain a building permit and check allpertinent building code regulations.

Good luck with your project. Bill Rinella, President

6. Cut all the 2x4-12' boards to 11'-9". These boards will be the floor joist. Treated lumbermay be thicker than 1-1/2". Take this into account when cutting the length of floor joists.Shorten joist measurements if necessary to obtain 12'-0" building width.

7. Install floor joist boards between the joist headers. Install this section over 4x4s.

4. Cut (2) two 2x4-12' joist headers to 12' - 0".5. Layout for 12" on center joist spacing. 'X' marks where floor joist will be placed.

Shown below is a typical wood floor. Depending on your area, the construction may have to bechanged to meet local codes. The foundation size should be 12' - 0" x 20' - 0".

Building Tip: To aid in the assembly of the trusses, temporarily screw 2x4 blocks to thefloor. There are short 2x4s, that may have an angle on one end, supplied in the kit for thispurpose. Use the screws from disassembling the shipping pallet. This will trap the trussparts and insure that all the trusses will be assembled the same. This is very important.

3. Secure the tops together with a wood gusset. Apply wood glue between the 2x4 boards andthe gusset. Nail the gusset to the 2x4s with 6d common nails. Use 12 nails per gusset. Anglenails slightly so nails do not protrude through the 2x4 boards.

4. Install a 2x4-90" collar tie between the 2x4 boards. Hold in place with a couple more 2x4blocks. Install 12"x24" wood gussets to the ends of the collar tie. Glue and nail the gussetto the collar tie. Use 12 nails per gusset.
