of Medical and Humanitarian organizations is calling for action to help civilian
stricken areas

Syrian American Medical Society (SA
and Union of Syrian Medical Relief Organizations will be hosting a joint pressconference to call on the White House, ICRC and the International community to m
urgently in order to save civilians and assure safe treatment of patients in violencestricken areas in Syria. The coalition of several medical and humanitarian organizat
will announce joining forces to coordinate the medical and humanitarian relief efforconflict-ridden areas of Syria.
Currently, Syria is experiencing a humanitarian disaster of unprecedented levels. Th
Syrian-American community along with the greater worldwide Syrian expatriatecommunity- has been actively involved in sending humanitarian aid and medical
supplies into the country as many hospitals, pharmacies and clinics have been closedamaged or destroyed by Syrian security forces. Representatives of Syrian America
Medical Society, Syrian Expatriates, Syrian Relief and Development and the Union
Syrian Medical Relief Organizations will be on hand to make a statement regardinghumanitarian crisis inside Syria and discuss the current needs of the Syrian people.
The coalition calls upon all segments of the international community, including theUnited Nations, ICRC, Doctors without Borders and individual nations to immediat
get involved in this humanitarian crisis and demand a humanitarian corridor beestablished to allow for the transfer of aid and medical supplies into Syria- especiall
the stricken city of Homs and the regions of Idlib and Hama. The followingorganizations are listed as coalition partners: Syrian American Medical Society
(SAMS), Syria Relief and Development (SRD), Syrian Expatriate Medical Associat(SEMA), Union of Syrian Medical Relief Organizations, The Syrian British Medica
Society, Syrian Expatriates Organization (SEO) and the Syrian Emergency Task Fo(SETF).
