Installing and activating Samsung Mobile Navigator on the i900:

Step 1: Insert the micro SD card into the phone, then go to Start, then select

Programs, scroll down to the Samsung Mobile Navigator icon, and select it. You

will then be asked Do you want to install the Samsung Mobile Navigator software?

Select Yes

Step 2: Select I Agree and allow the installation to complete. Once completed, a

message saying The installation has completed successfully. Do you want to run

Samsung Mobile Navigator? will be displayed. Select Yes. The application will thenbe launched. A Garmin Online screen will be displayed next, select OK. A screen

with Warning use GPS safely will be displayed, read the information and select I

Agree

Step 3: A screen saying Cant activate Garmin Mobile XT. Do you want to activate

now? (unit Id: xxxxxxxxxx) will be displayed, select Yes

Step 4: Select the coupon code field (----------) and enter the 10 digit coupon code

found on the yellow coupon code card. (PLEASE NOTE: that the coupon code

must be kept in a safe place for future reference). Once the coupon code has

been entered, select Done" and then verify that the code has been entered correctlyand press "Done"

Step 5: A message saying The unlock code will be sent to you via SMS. Please wait

a couple of minutes. will be displayed. Please wait for the activation SMS, do not

select "cancel ". Once the activation SMS arrives (this message will be received bythe application, and should not go into your inbox) a message saying Garmin Mobile

XT Activated will be displayed after a couple of seconds. Select OK, and Enjoy the

product!

To find your destination, simply make use of the intuitive menu structure of the Samsung Mobile Navigator

software.

Example: You need to go to an address, the address is 1 Newmarket road, in North Riding.

simply select Where to?, then select Addresses, select the country that the address is in, followed by the

city or suburb, (Search all cities is normally a quicker way of finding an address), then simply enter the

address number, press next, enter the street name, press next, select the relevant option, and press Go! .

Samsung Mobile Navigator has got 2 map view perspectives,

each with a day and night mode. The switch from day-to-

night mode will happen automatically in the evenings, making

driving at night easier by having a less intense dark

background color. The switch from night-to-day mode will

also happen automatically in the morning, switching back to

the lighter colored background.

POI dialing: POIs with a telephone number (such as restaurants and

lodging places) can be dialed simply by pressing the Dial button. This

way you can find out if tables or rooms are available, make the

reservation, and by selecting Go!, drive to the destination.

With Samsung Mobile Navigator you can send or request Location messages to or from other users that are

also using Garmin Mobile XT or Samsung Mobile Navigator software. (if the person you send the message

to does not have the software on their phone, they will receive a normal text message containing the

coordinates that you have sent.) To send a location message, go to Tools, then to Location messages,

select the contact that you want then select Send location message and select SendSending a Location message (Tell a Friend):

When using Samsung Mobile Navigator to Request a location message, the person that you will be

requesting the message from must have Samsung Mobile Navigator or Garmin Mobile XT software on their

phone in order for the request to work. To request a location message, go to Tools, then to Location

messages, select the contact that you want then select Request message, and wait for the message.

Exiting Samsung Mobile Navigator on the i900:

To close the Samsung Mobile Navigator application, simply select the Exit button in

the main menu. Then select Yes. The application will then be closed. (if you

accidentally selected the Exit button, and do not wish to close the application,

simply select No)

When I try to launch Samsung Mobile Navigator I get a message saying

Data type misalignment at address

This error is caused by a message on the phone or sim card that does not have a body

or sender. (typically a MMS). Please delete this message and the software will function

as normal. (this error has been fixed in V5.00.20, email [email protected] to find out

how you can obtain the new software if you still have V5.00.10)

When I type in my coupon code I get a message saying error sending

message.

Please ensure that you have airtime if you are on pre paid. If you do not, please

recharge your account and try again.

My phone takes a long time to acquire position, what can I do?

1. Ensure that you are in an open (outside) area with no obstructions such as

buildings, trees etc.

2. Always ensure that the phone has line of sight while driving, for optimal use,

use the phone in the supplied windscreen cradle.

3. Download the Enhanced GPS feature (the next couple of slide will give you a

step by step guide). This will help the handset to acquire quicker.

Enhanced GPS and also known as GPS XTRA (Extended Receiver Assistance) is an optional feature to improve the Time ToFirst Fix (TTFF) on the users location.

The process includes downloading a file from the Qualcomm server which is about 40KB in size and can be used for up to 7

days before it requires a re-download

The data file includes information on the satellite positions; this allows the handset to lock onto the satellites quicker vs.

and Auto download (auto download will automatically download the information

every 24hrs by default)
